My 06 toyota tacoma has recently developed a nasty squeek, I'm assuming one of my bushings, or ball joint has crapped out on me. I am stuck between doing the entire control arm or the bushings/ball joints themselves. If I do one side should I not just do them both as well? The other is am I better off to have a shop do it or is it feasible to do by myself with the coil over shocks in front?

Your post is super vague. Be more specific. Is it a nasty squeak/ screech when the suspension flexes? Mine did that before I even had 50k miles on the odometer. The lower control arm bushings were seized. The bolts needed to be cut, and I needed new arms and hardware. Now I get an alignment every couple years and ask them to pull the bolts and slather them with anti-seize.It's a common Tacoma issue. Most people just ignore it and eventually trade the truck in for a newer one.

It's not a screech its definitely a nasty squeak, deer can here me coming when I leave my house. Driving through a quiet neighborhood the noise ricochets off buildings. Its when the suspension is flexed, hit a tiny bump, squeak, I bounce my front end up and down with my body weight squeak squeak squeak. I can definitely post a video but I'd Like to spare you the trouble, I'm about 80% positive it's my rear most bushing on the lca.

Yeah, mine would do it with even minor movement of the front end. If you're handy you may be able to pull and address them yourself. Mark the cam positions with a sharpie then loosen and pull them one at a time and be liberal with the anti-seize.

Yes sir, west of billings! And I'm definitely handy and enjoy to work, but I'm an absolute dumb@$$ when it comes to anything automotive. Not quite sure why but that's one thing I've never excelled at and I dont want to learn by royally messing things up. I also have fox coil overs on the front not that it really pertains to this but I had toyota dealership put them on and I'm not 100% sure if they even did it right, that's where my dilemma is playing a role.

Call up your fattest friend. Have him bounce the front end up and down while you put your hand on each bushing. When you find the culprit, you will be able to feel the vibrations from the squeak. A mechanics stethoscope is the proper tool for the job, but I'm guessing you don't have 1 of those.

I do surprisingly enough have one lol Unfortunately each bushing I have placed it on both have the squeek i am hearing, so it's a likely possibility that its both being shot... which conveys the next question, should I do the entire control arm that come with the bushings/ball joint that are OEM, or just the bushings and ball joint individually? And may as well do the other side right away?
