I think it’s important that everyone know that this retailer has their own valving with ADS. It’s not the most recent enhanced valving available. Some may think theirs is better. Just wanted people to have the info

New Information:
It's very important to me to admit when I'm wrong. I wish more people would do it. I was wrong here. I heard this information from a source that I obviously no longer trust as I just got off the phone with a VERY trustworthy source to clear up any discrepancy. I will honor their request not to be identified so please don't ask.

Headstrong is NOW getting the same valving as everyone else. This used to not be case. They are NOW identical shocks for our trucks as you would get anywhere else except for the white and black sticker instead of the standard yellow and black. If you go with the extended piggyback model, which I don't even know are included in this GB, they are a bit longer than the stock ADS ones. That's all I know. Again, I'm sorry I perpetuated information that was once true, but is no longer and for an confusion that caused.

Uh oh, I've been around the block and to the top of the mountain, on my way down the other side. I have read this forum and other info about shocks this past couple of months plus, every day. All I know is when I get ready to order shocks from headstrong I will believe whatever she tells me. I'm pretty good about sensing the foul odor of rats. Headstrong smells rosie to me. In fact, I have not read one single itty bitty bad thing about them. And still, haven't. I'm not giving any cred to this last comment.

 

Maybe HS can deny or confirm and we can all just move along.

 

We don't have proprietary valving per se, we have proprietary part numbers based on the dimensions of the stock. We have coil options, like 600 or 700lb, which ADS will valve the shocks according to the client running a higher or lower spring rated coil. This isn't necessarily our thing and never dictated specific numbers but something that they offered since we have the various spring rates for added flexibility for our clients which most other companies do not. We found having coil options nice since the performance coilovers (ADS, King, Icon, Fox, etc) all stayed the same from 05-current. A 2005 2wd access cab 4cy man. tranny is much lighter then a 2020 4x4 4dr v6 auto. Since the trucks and builds are not all the same this allows our clients the ability to build the suspension as they see fit.

I have also yet to hear that people felt ADS left a lot to be desired. Maybe the 100's of clients that I have personally talked to and sold ADS too didn't tell me but this is honestly news to me. I love my ADS's and as far as I can tell everyone else does too.
