OK after doing a search for adjusting headlights I noticed that all the threads refered to 2nd gen trucks.
So how about us 1st gen guys that do not have the fancy knobs on our headlights?
After installing my lift and camper shell I am blinding the cars around me. So I looked at the lights and there appears to be only 1 location that will adjust the light but of course I don't have a wrench or socket that is small enough to fit on it. Besides it looks like it will only adjust it from side to side and I need it to aim down. UGH me oh my...

The adjuster is actually up/down only.

Craftsman has the wrench, I think its a 4mm or 4.5mm.

EDIT: WTF, I didnt create a link for the sears website...

Nah not sure, just saying cause it's located at the very bottom but off to the corner and the only other location that is connected to the truck is the top on the other corner. so it appears that it will only adjust the corner and not just up and down, As if it was there to bring that bottom corner either in or out only and then you would need to figure out a way to adjust the opposite side either in or out at the same time to make sure it was even.
I was like WTF is that about? LOL

DocBrown86, thanks man. The last time i messed with those screws I stripped the ends up so ban I had to resort to a needle-nose vise grip pliers to finish the job!

DocBrown is correct, it is for vertical adjustment. I believe it is 4mm since I use a 5/32 socket to adjust it.

There is also a way to somewhat adjust horizontal but it would really only allow you to point the beams wider (towards the outside of the truck). Not sure of theses were actually intended for this but it works.

Loosen this post with a 10mm to point the beams outward.

well riding to my parents house this weekend. My Dad has all of the cool tools, LOL. Last night on my way home from work my lights where aimed right into the back windows of every car in front of me and only about 1/2 an inch below the window of the 4 runner that I was behind at a traffic light!

wrong, there is a adjustment knob at the bottom of the light for the up/down. if you are looking down, its going to be on the side closest to the fender

That's not a knob..that's the adjustment we are all talking about and I needed to know if it adjusted the lights up and down or just side to side. Also what size socket to use. When someone mentions knob...I'm looking for a knob.

uhhh, its a hex head. that is the up/down adjustment. as for horizontal, like mentioned above, by unscrewing that piece in the pic above, you will only be spreading them wider, you can not bring them any closer.

I hate those things. I had a bronco II years ago and it had the same studs to adjust the lights and I freakin strip the hell out of the heads on them. Ended up using a needle nose vise grips to do the job and I didn't want to go through all that again without asking around, LOL

I just put in some led's and then used the 4 mm screw down in the corner. That's how I got them down.20170104_194112.jpg
