Well as a beginner in all this I definitely appreciate everyone's opinion. I would have never thought to try other whiskeys if it wasn't for this thread. Now it's worse than TW itself because I am looking and seeing all sorts of things I wanna try.
I bet I spent 30 minutes in Costco looking at all the things today haha!

I'm super jealous that you can shop for whiskey in Costco proper. We have the little add-on store connected to Costco, but the prices and selection are never as good as what I see on here.

Biggest suggestion? Don't get too caught up in the FOMO mentality. Lots of stuff that is inexpensive at retail for a reason gets crazy high valuations on secondary. It is driven by a lower supply, but the demand is high due to fear of missing out on being able to say you had some, not because it is some wildly amazing offering.

Which is great advice! I'm not one to keep up with the Joneses but I have found there is more than just Jack Daniel's out there.

I really like the Elijah Craig and BPEC is a definite treat.

B519 is the best batch of 2019 IMO, if you can buy more at that price you should stock up (or send some to your favorite internet pals on TW ;)).

The bottle I had.. I REALLY enjoyed. I haven't personally seen any other batches. If it wasn't predominantly on the label I wouldn't even paid any attention.

The other two batches of 2019, A119 and C919, are higher proof (135/137) which is good, but they're a little bit harsher than past ECBP batches at that proof IMO. They're still great bottles, but B519 is special for 2019.

I think B518 was the best of 2018 and B517 was the batch that won Whiskey of the Year. Something about those Bs....

Well the couple dozen bottles I saw today at two different Costcos were all B519.. and unfortunately limited to 1 per purchase. But at $60 it's the cheapest I've seen. I bought the only and only bottle I saw earlier this year for $80 then saw 3 in a regular liquor store for $70 each but didn't buy any of those.

I liked B518 over C918 as well, but I never got to try A118. Haven't opened B517 yet, trying to work through some other bottles first.

Good luck man. After a dinner like that, I’d be afraid of shitting myself halfway through the interview

Best of luck! Fine eating and drinking for your prep.

I was thinking the same thing.

I love me a ribeye, but that much steak reincarnates in to a fierce bout of gas and more the next day. (I still never turn it down)
