Last night I drove down to long island and put a deposit down on a 1st gen Tacoma. I will be back Friday to pick it up.

    2004 black double cab TRD 4x4 117,000
It has several issues but I can deal with those.
-There is a cobbed together wiring harness from a remote starter that I will want to remove unless I can get a new fob from the company.
-The roof will need re-sprayed at some point. I may do it myself or get some quotes to have a shop do and the hood to make it presentable. or I may just flat spray it.
-Best of all it has brand new frame, leaf springs, tank straps, lower control arms, etc. (with the stickers still on it).
-No body rust except the bed floor which I will need to find a donor to patch. Solid rockers, body mounts, door jams, etc
-2" spacer lift. That's gotta go
-PO420 code which seems like a bad seal on the gas cap- the pressure release sound when you open it after running- worst case scenario the charcoal canister.
-sadly, it is a TRD without a rear locker.
-I could not get the 4x4 to work. the transfer case shifts into low range and N without issue but I wouldn't even get sound from the actuator with I pressed the button. After some roadside diagnosing I found the fuse from the actuator circuit was missing! I swapped the a 20A from the windshield wiper circuit and the 4x4 engagement worked without hesitation. I got him to knock $500 off explaining the issues I found. I suspect the previous owner go tired of people accidentally pressing the 4x4 button and he removed the fuse.
It was the best driving Tacoma I have been in. All fluids looked good. the coolant looked a little old but at least it was Toyota red with no signs of pink milkshake.
-Lower ball joints were replaced under recall.
-no sign of timing belt being done yet I will inspect in later.
-I drove it for about 30 min with my scangauge monitoring engine temps, voltage, and trans temp. no irregularities noticed.
-I got him to knock $500 off explaining the issues I found. questionable 4x4 and I will have to patch the bed floor.

    Hola all
Been a while... still on the road as always. My Diode rep sent me a video of their new pod style led light. Sold me on it and I just bought two sets, one for brighter backup lights when I'm out in the woods (if I ever make it back out to the woods...) and a SAE Fog set to replace the 6" bars I have now from Diode. Check out their video, pretty sweet stuff. Sucks that I can't make the meet this weekend, I don't fly home until late Saturday night but I'm off the entire week of thanksgiving on mandatory vacation though! Hopefully I'll get some truck work done.

Those look pretty sweet, especially after trying to q-tip out the water and ice in my passenger side fog Sunday. Something else for @crashnburn80 to test?

Can anyone tell me why the passenger side front fender liner is vented in the front and the driver side is solid? I hope it's not critical ventilation, because a flexible plastic cutting board and some pop rivets have now rendered the passenger side solid on my truck.

Yes, I am aware of Diode Dynamics upcoming SAE fog release, we discussed them a few months back, they sound pretty unique. After discussion with @Diode Dynamics I was hoping they would provide the lights for the thread.

Passenger side fender is vented because the air intake draws from the fender, above the liner.

Morning everyone, it’s Friday and I have the whole weekend off. With the exception of normal household interior/exterior chores , it should be at my own pace and no rush. How I like it!
