Billet UCA for under $600 seems a little too good to be true. Not saying it isn’t legit, just sayin....

IDK, The Sling-Pot! But if that doesn’t float your boat. I vote a rechargeable headlamp.
If that interests you Search Petzel Tikka or Taktikka.

I got a couple of these for Camp. They are nice and cheap. Can also recharge your phone.

If I want to pursue a fix on my own, that's my business: owners are free to modify their vehicles as they deem appropriate. However, it could affect future warranty claims. Again, if we knew there was something we could replace with a Toyota part to fix the problem, we'd do it. But, as it stands, anything we'd replace that was a Toyota part causing the problem would likely still cause the same problem.

So, I may drop the $399 and buy an NVH software program to collect my own data to make sure I know what part of the vehicle's drive train to focus on before dropping $500 to replace the two-piece prop-shaft with a single-piece prop-shaft or putting a new rear axle assembly on the truck. In either case, the cost out of pocket is still less than the hit I'll take on trade-in value given what I've spent "personalizing" the truck, e.g., topper shell, leather interior, wheels & tires, suspension leveling, sound system, sound insulation, etc.

Bigger issue is what to trade it in on. I need a six-foot bed and the only truck with a six-foot bed that's of any interest is, gag-me, a Toyota Tundra DoubleCab. All of the other trucks from GM, Ford, RAM, Nissan have their own issues. But, the Tundra is was overdue for a refresh so there's no way I'd trade the Tacoma on a 2020 Tundra DC unless it was close to a trade-in + $5k cash out the door. After all, the minute an updated Tundra comes out the current generation depreciate as fast as a Range Rover, Jaguar or Maserati.

Still mulling over my options....

Tom Woods guarantees their driveshaft. If that doesn't fix the problem, you can return it for a full refund....or sell it to me for pennies on the dollar

Man, this just sucks. I have had so many Toyota’s over the years that I know what your saying.
I currently am spending lots of time and money on making my 3rd what I think it should have been from the factory.

Correct...do not get a new tundra. They are far behind the competition in every category and resale is already dropping like it was a range rover. I'm currently stuck with my bad decision of choosing an '18 crewmax when i was in a bind for a new vehicle. To top it off, last i looked, the dumb thing is getting 12mpg city and I drive it pretty eco consciously since I hate low mpg.

Pretty much sums it up. I love Toyota, but am blown away by how much the "undeniable reliability" has outweighed the need for "current tech" in all aspects. I thought they were going to release the twin turbo v6 for 2020, but it's now looking like 2021 at the earliest. I don't really want to be the guinea pig on a new generation either.

Similar to the Tundra is the Sequoia. We wanted a Sequoia for my wife when we had our 3rd baby. Well, we really wanted a Land Cruiser, but were seriously considering a Sequoia because of the price (not that they are cheap or anything). We were close to pulling the trigger but dealerships weren't willing to move on the price much. Even on 2018 models that were still on the new lot in August of 2019, they wouldn't budge on the price. Then Ford did a 20% off deal and we bought an Expedition. The EcoBoost v6 has been out for several years and my grandparents both drive Fords with the EcoBoost (F150 and Expedition) and love them enough to buy them again. Knowing my grandparents, that speaks volumes. The gas mileage, tech, reliability, etc. along with the price made it an easy decision.

At this point, my next truck is likely to be an F150.

But so true. I plan on doing the same thing. A few friends and family members have Raptors and I have been nothing but impressed with them in all aspects.

The ecoboost has sooooo much potential... There is a video floating around of a virtually stock f150 with the ecoboost making around 500whp, with just CAI, down pipe, 91 octane and a tune....NUTS!

In case any of y'all aren't checking the "weekly outdoors" thread, we're working on plans to hit Hurricane Creek on Saturday. So far, 2 confirmed and 2 more interested.

Raptor is too much for me. I'm looking at the Lariat trim with the 502A, FX4 and max trailer tow packages. I go in and out of wanting it. I do, but I don't want to get rid of the Tacoma...nor can I afford both. My Tacoma is paid for, so there is no cheaper option.
