Yup! Delco stereo/cassette with equalizer, installed in many GM vehicles as late as 1995! Most Rolls-Royce, even American-spec ones, used Blaupunkt audio equipment. 1978-1980 SY cars and 1981-1983ish SZ cars used a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio and a separate Pioneer Super Tuner cassette deck.

That’s crazy... I Mean I’ve seen similar situations with newer vehicles... this is random but a buddy of mine used to own a 2008 maserati quattroporte... every time for his brake job he was able to use 2008 Chevy Camaro brakes and rotors

In the 1970s and 1980s, Rolls-Royce also used Delphi-Harrison A/C compressors and for many years they used GM 3-speed transmissions!

Oh, the joys of dealing with Pennsylvania’s communistic state-run
    liquor stores...

In all seriousness, once the the people at a specific store got to know you after a couple visits, they were pretty cool. They didn’t ask for ID and went by their instincts instead of obnoxiously following the letter of the law.

There used to be a Wine and Spirits store on West Court Street in Doylestown Borough. This store coexisted with the new store on Veterans Way for maybe a year, but now it been closed for at least a year.

The staff at this store was very nice for the most part, but one time I had the misfortune of showing up to get a few bottles of liquor right after the Liquor Control Board had conducted an annual (perhaps random) audit and really held their feet to the fire. Thanks to government bureaucracy, the liquor license had to be renewed every year (I think they should be good for life) and I had to show my ID and sign some paperwork every year. If I remember correctly, the license had just been renewed and I had to have the manager present to fill out the paperwork. My boss was busy, but we needed booze. It was only two or three bottles, so my boss told me to just say I was buying the bottles for personal use.

This normally friendly and docile 50-something woman who I dealt with all the time was a complete bitch as a result of this audit. She kept glaring at me suspiciously, and saying “this had better really be for personal use” and “it would be against the law if you’re buying this for the bar.” She couldn’t fool me; She knew exactly what I was doing, but she knew it was one of those times when it would be in her best interest if she left well enough alone. I bought the two or three bottles without incident and went back to the bar.

This brings me back to my dealings at the Wawa and Main Street (across from the nursing home) where I refuse to buy cigarettes because the employees realized I was buying multiple brands of cigarettes in one transactions and made it their mission in life to make me confess that the smokes were not for me so they could refuse to sell them to me. No, I do not smoke. However, when I worked at Puck most of my coworkers did smoke. When they were busy bartending, the best course of action was to send a barback to the Wawa on a smoke run. All of my coworkers who smoked were were 25 or older, but it didn’t matter because they could just say “you can tell us anything to buy tobacco for minors.”

It was bad enough that this particular Wawa carded me every time I bought cigarettes even though I was a “regular” and they knew I was almost 30.

I got fed up and voted with my feet, going to another convenience store (to rename unnamed so they don’t get slammed for not carding customers) on the other side of town for smoke runs. Now that Puck is closed, I only buy cigarettes a few times a year and always for my former boss when she sends me on errands.

It is seriously easier for a middle school kid to buy heroin in this area than it is for adults to buy alcohol and tobacco!
I am in no way condoning underage drinking or the sale of tobacco to minors, but maybe if it were less difficult to obtain beer and cigarettes, kids wouldn’t do drugs like heroin?!?!

And here’s another bizarre story of an encounter at that now-closed state store...

For a time, both the Court Street and Veterans Lane locations were open simultaneously. The latter was bigger, nicer, and much easier to back your vehicle up to (though after I got the backup camera installed in my truck in 2016, backing up to the Court Street store was a walk in the park).

What store we ordered from depended on which one had what we needed. One of the women from the Court Street store found out we’d been primarily buying booze at the then-new Veterans Lane store and took it wayyy too personally. If liquor stores in Pennsylvania were privately owned and thus privately run, and we were taking business away from one liquor store by buying from another (not that it would matter anyway because this is a free and capitalist country), I could understand her frustration at losing business. However, all liquor stores are owned and run by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. All liquor store employees are paid by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and not the specific store where they work, and the full-time ones are unionized. This woman has absolutely no right to be upset!

    Not even non-alcoholic beer?

I do not consider myself to have a drinking problem. When I do get really drunk I am responsible and generally use Uber (or call my parents). My problem is that when I have access to mass quantities of beer, I will drink the stuff like water or soda and it adds to my obesity problem.

Have you ever lost your driver’s license for anything?

The only time I even came close to getting my license suspended was when I got my first speeding ticket and I had my lawyer friend enter the plea. The traffic court didn’t get my plea as early as they would have liked and I believe I got the warning letter the day after the law office entered a not guilty plea.

What pisses me off about moving violations is the goddamn points. I make enough money that I would be willing to just pay the ticket, but those points will jack up my insurance rates. I believe that points on a driver’s license should be reserved for habitual traffic offender, not generally law-abiding drivers like myself who make two petty mistakes in a little less than two years...

Only time you ever lost it?

This proves my point that people like you and me should never just accept the punishment and pay the ticket. Fight all charges, always!

I got stopped for my License Plate Location on a Honda CBR600rr. The police said it was illegal.

I did research and the law stated it needed to be visible and lit.

I took pictures, went to court and was said to be not guilty.

Also, PennDOT’s mandatory 1-year suspension if you get caught driving on a suspended license regardless of why it was suspended and how long it originally suspended for, is bullshit!

A guy I know ended up losing his license for two years because of an expired inspection ticket he’d forgotten to pay, and unknowingly drove on a suspended license.

You know all about the January 2019 “treating a red light like a stop sign while in an advanced state of drowsiness” incident...

I will admit I was 100% wrong for going through that red light, but it was also 100% an accident, and a big reason I fought it was because I thought both the cop and sheriff’s deputy were dickheads; I used my legal rights as American to
    be a dickhead right back!

Yes, but he shouldn’t have lost his license for that long. He should have gotten his license back as soon as he paid the ticket; It’s not like he got a DUI or reckless driving charge!
