rev limiter? What's the tach doing?

 

Anybody try the 488 tune on stock gears yet?

 

Good luck and safe travels in the new ride. It looks fun, and Kia has certainly come a long way. I had no idea that car even existed. It will certainly be more sporty than the Taco!

 

It will rev all the way to the limiter, bounce off, stall, start to rev to the limiter again and then shifts. It only does this for what I believe is 4th. 1-3 is ok at WOT, then 4th fucks up, and then if u keep pushing it it will shift into 5th or even 6th fine too. I'm not 100% sure which gear it is as it doesnt display them. Very irritating if your passing, or getting on highway with speed limits 75+. Dangerous even.

 

Are there still plans for a final beta for 04B04?

 

Never had issues getting on freeway nor needing wot . the most I saw 4k on tachometer to get to 90.
Passing is a different issue. There are limits in the tables to deal all sort of parameters, causing the dead pedal issue.

 

Didnt say I "needed" it. But if I want to WOT from a stand still to 140mph I should be able too without issue. So that's not the point. It started doing this as far as I know from the 1.05, and the 2.0 does it as well. I never tried WOT stock because I tuned it just after the "breakin" period and didnt wind it out prior to tuning. Its capable of logs right? I see no reason why I cant just log a WOT run, record it and send it to matt to analyze. I'm sure he can see what ita doing in a few minutes. Maybe it's just mine, or maybe like you, most people dont drive their truck like an ass like I do. I didnt give it a performance tune to drive it like an old lady, or for 30mpg. Cant exactly go to toyota and tell them my tune is acting up now can I lol. So maybe some people here with 2.0 can try it? Go from a dig to 90 WOT. If everyone's shifts right it's just mine. If not, then I'm the only one who's pushed the truck hard before.

Yeah that's exactly what mine does. But only for 1 gear. All 5 other gears shift flawlessly. As I said prior I cant be 100% sure which gear it is.

@VoodooPro tested the dig this morning. I have a couple tenths of a second before the truck can start winding up but that’s all. Traction control kicks in for me too.

 

What version of 2? I got mine from another member. My trucks a 19 as well, is it possible to use the wrong one?

 

Wouldn't redline in 4th be around the speed limiter? I think we are limited electronically to 116mph.

 

If true, must be 3rd then. I've never had the truck much over 100 so not sure on the limiter. The nitto ridge grapplers dont seem stable at high speed so I would prefer not testing it.

Stock, my truck did this once in awhile on the 2-3 shift. I think i narrowed it down to it breaking traction on wet roaads, and it hits the rev limiter then doesn't want to shift. But i've also had it happen during dry conditions so that theory may not make 100% sense.

 

I dont know what version of the file I have. It was given to me by another forum member. He said it was the 91 performance gear lock 2.0 that would work with the 2019 model. I want to keep those features specifically. I like the truck to be very agressive and responsive even if tip in is a bit harsh. As long as there are no dead peddle spots, especially at crawling speeds.

 

If you'd post the filename, all of the info about what tune it is will be there, unless the person you got it from changed it.
