I have a 2nd cousin named Elijah that's half black and half white...I guess this both helps and doesn't help you're association with the name lol.

I’ve met multiple people who thought I was White on the phone, and surprised to see I was a dark skinned Filipino in person. To be fair, I have one of the whitest names on the planet.

I haven't seen a Bridgeport lathe or milling machine since I worked at Remington Arms many moons ago.

I know a couple of people named Elijah that go by Eli. Then one of my client/coworkers and his wife just had baby and named him Andrew Elias.

Here's a couple of observations from other groups that may be happening here and it may not and may try to avoid.

    1) When members of a forum get together for a "club meet" in person, the members seem to all communicate on a better level after the meet. One group had several big annual meets in Sedona AZ, with regional meets in between. I see this happening out west in our group.

    2) Several members from across the country spend more time communicating via calls and text messages than posting on the forum. This happens after they all become good friends. I have seen them get together and confer via phone to work on another new members problems. I'm sure some of this goes on with our west coast members. On another club, I talk a lot with other members from the east coast. Though most of its members are in the north east.

    3) A good way to have a big annual meet is to organize it around a product factory tour.

    4) Sports threads turn into fight threads where a couple of members may be banned for the season.

    5) One club site hosted a political discussion thread. While no members were banned, the site eventually lost most of its key content contributors and basically died.
