    Interesting & thanks.

POR15 is NOT UV stable - and recommends a UV protective coat if exposed to the sun. The experiment didn't apply the recommended UV coat.
My application looks pretty solid and I am pleased with the results so far and will remain cautiously optimistic until I have a different experience.
Use what you'd like as my frame is already coated, and will not be exposed to UV rays.
Please let us know what you choose and why.
    Cheers!

Finally a video with someone following the directions when applying POR-15, and doing all the prep work. The only thing he didn't take into account is that it's usually recommended to topcoat POR-15 with paint or something because it doesn't like UV light. None-the-less his test sure makes the Eastwood Internal Frame Coating look like the stuff to use. I did the same as @bowyer2002, and used POR-15 on my frame. I did apply a topcoat even though my frame, especially the inside, will see very little UV light. Applied it last spring, and so far so good. We will see how it does down the road.

and he said its relatively 'thin' with a lot of prep work, but i really don't know much about it not having done my own experiments with elapsed time.
the prep work i am doing on mine has been relatively time consuming so far since i cannot stand right on top of the task at hand, have been looking straight up underneath making a huge mess!

i know this original tacoma frame paint seems a bit thin and blasts right off with relative ease even where it seems good still and no crusty creep behind.
the eastwood extreme primer i have been using with a couple coats took a little more work with the glass bead blaster to remove and redo in spots

but there could be a difference between 20+ year old paint and 2 month old stuff, i really don't know yet.

i think the internal frame coating is not good in UV light either, but will double check my spray cans of it

Are your drain holes plugged from the liner or crap blocking them?

However dumb it sounds I didn't realize there were supposed to be drain holes lol. The PO did a spray in bedliner so I'm hoping they didn't coat the holes like boneheads. where are they located and I can check once I'm done with my shift. Was just out on lunch and snagged the pic

Front corner on each side. Hard to get a pic since I have boxes in the way but the tip of the screwdriver is in the drain hole here.

Thanks for the help and the picture for reference on location, I appreciate it! Will get back about this once I check, how would you recommend I get bedliner off if the PO really covered them?

Looks like a spray in liner, guessing LineX. Just jam a flat blade screw driver thru there or maybe take a razor and try cutting a little bit of the liner out and then jam a flat blade screw driver in there. Either way, shouldn't be too difficult to open them back up. Just needs enough to be able to drain the water.

Ya it's spray in, not line x, but some other company I can't think of. They have their emblem sticker on the bed but I can't remember it lol. Okay I'll jam it if that's the case, thanks again!

i will be interested in what results you have over the coming years with it not getting peely or anything! I am still hunting for the best method (there are SO MANY choices!) as i don't want to be having to redo it every few years or whatever

maybe it can 'possibly' be exposed to UV rays underneath from the glare of the sun reflecting up from glistening snow
or at least i think that is how most skiers get bad sunburns out on the slopes :notsure:
a topcoat then is probably the best
due to the weather here i have not been able to attempt and topcoat mine (wish i had a heated garage with more room!)

i am fortunate this spot was not all rotty and crusty
the LineX guy caulked it good before it was sprayed over so it will be covered up as it always had been under a plastic drop-in liner
2 decades of dirt and stuff under right there
