Thanks for that. So besides the 16”s, I could fit 17”s ? if it came down to that. Another newb question, why does your truck have the black around the fenders? I like that. Mine does not have that, must be the cheapest option? It does have non power windows, I didn’t think they made newer cars with window cranks anymore.

No it’s not 4x4. I was playing around looking at tires, and America’s tire website says this.. I’d go look at the truck myself, but it’s not with me just yet. It looks exactly like the pic below. 12C4D93A-C095-451B-BF9D-73278343AD25.jpg

This is where my experience ends, most of us here on TW are into 4x4, I don't have experience with building 2wd's but I'd look into any 5 lug forums you can find. The 5 lug 2wd is base of the base models but one hell of a reliable and fun truck

Sorry if I’m in the wrong spot. I was just interested In making it look at least a little bit better! Those tiny tires look goofy. I guess I’ll end up getting some stock rims, and slightly larger tires and call it a day.

When you had the 600's, how much were the coils preloaded? Were you at 4" with a lot of thread showing or with minimal thread?

Minimal thread. Approximately 1/2" or less. However it came from the factory. When I changed springs I didn't mess with the preload.

Wow, that's ridiculous. I can't wrap my head around that; 4" of height with minimal preload? I just ordered a set of Dobinson C59-316 (400mm / 15.75") coils @ 475lb/in for my no-armor truck. The rep states 1.5 - 2 inches at the lowest setting, so hopefully that will give the ride I seek with the Bilstein 5100. This is my last low-cost ditch effort before making a big investment on high-performance coilovers.

A lot of trial and error for the single cab guys!

@Crikeymike do you have anything to add about these Dobinsons? Okay match for a Regular Cab 2.7L 4x4?

I'm amazed he got 4 inches too, before I had armor I had the 600's and I actually added preload to get a 3" lift cause I was sitting at 2.5"

Can you explain what you mean above by stock preload with the 500# springs? How many inches of thread did you have showing?

There was right around 1/2" of thread, maybe even less. 5 or 6 threads I believe at the most. The preload was the same with the 600 lb coils.

First pic is stock configuration. Front sits lower than rear. Second pic is 600 lb springs. Front sits higher. Maybe it wasn't truly 4", but it looked a lot worse in person. 500 lb springs leveled it. Now the leafs are shot at 27,000 miles so the ass drags...file1-31.jpg file4-13.jpg

That looks about 2.5" maaaybe 3" in pics. but 2.5 or 3" of lift in the front with anything smaller than 285's will make the lift look way bigger

What's the ride like on the RXT and what configuration did you have it in?

Thanks for the pictures. So, you are (were) level with king's off-the-shelf preload w/ 500lb springs and factory leafs, yes? But you're still feeling like the 500# springs give you a harsh ride because the valving was set for 600lb springs? It's so confusing to understand where there might be a grace-period in-between coil rates for the same valving.

Here's my truck when I first got it. It was around 4" of lift up front with 885 springs on Nitro shocks and had 1/2" spacers on each side. The tires are 285/75/16. I removed the spacers to get it back down to better cv angles around 3" up front. The rear has an add-a-leaf on each side.
