Can I use these wheels???

I have a 2006 Tacoma double cab 4x4. Somebody at work has these tires/wheels for sale. They came off a '96 Chevy Pickup truck. They are a six lug pattern, which is the same as mine. I plan on lifting the truck soon, and thought it'd be nice to have a back up set of rims/tires. The rims are in good shape, the tires are kinda crappy, but they are 285/16's and she's only asking $200 obo for them. I uploaded a pic of one of the wheels. Can anybody help me out?

 

If I'm not mistaking, in order to use factory gm wheels you have to have the center hole bored out because toyota uses a bigger hub than chevys.

 

How hard is that to do? Can anybody else back up that statement? Thanks!

 

those things are gross why in the world would you waste $200 dollars on those?

 

I agree, but it'd be nice to have a set of junkers that I could just throw on if I wanted to do some trail-riding or play in the mud, and keep my current wheels in nice condition. Its not like i'm buying these wheels to put on my truck and think they look nice, just somethin to have as a back up set

 

Suggestion, go to tirerack.com and input your make model.... They will show you the specs on a stock wheel, Lugs and spacing. Do the same for Chevy, compare.

 

If you bought them and they didn't fit, worst case scenario you could always buy a chevy for $100 to put them on and you would only have $300 in it. lol

 

You would have to bring it to a machinist and give him the measurements of your hub. I doubt it would be that expensive but for a set of rims that you might not use very often, it probably ain't worth it.
