Don't recall. That was my '02 Tacoma, so it was a few years ago. 2003 I think.

Yeah police reports aren't the end all but if they assign fault (which on California CHP555 they pretty much have to) that usually prods the insurance into doing the right thing. It's hard for them to argue with an independent, trained, experienced investigator who was on the scene.

It looks like an OR model. Does have that 4 wheel drive selector mode. For most part 16's were good. They just have shitty tranny maps, but could be fixed with OV tune and 5.29 gears.

This, it's hard for the insurance to go against the report but they can. Saved my ass in June when a woman hit me driving through Rocklin. $23K for ours, probably totaled the 3rd car...she drove away and was cited after the fact for making an illegal lane change and 100% at fault. Those insurance rates tho....

Anyone up in Colusa or the Sutter Buttes area?

I check satellite daily for weather ('amateur weather dude') and happened to notice something odd. This is from today about 11:50 to 3:30p. Looks as if multiple fires are breaking out across a fairly LARGE area. Nothing on CalFire incident page yet and can't find anything for Sutter County. I'm guessing Sutter from the distance from Clear Lake on the map. Could be wrong on location but seriously, its weird. Take a look - give it a moment to load, data intensive.

    Smoke from multiple fires

    Fire Temp (Red)

if either don't automatically play, click the 'PLAY SPACE' button (top left of screen)

Hopefully this is nothing - if its burning, that is a HUGE area.

It typically takes 7-10 days to complete the report. If it's a serious accident, it may take longer. Unless you ass pack another car, blame is a part of the report. As far as cites go, maybe/maybe not.

Interesting, thx for the info. Hopefully not intentional to clear. They really curtailed that starting in the 80s.

I do mine same day because I realize how important they are to people, but even if you stretch it out to 10 days they still would have given him a case number same day, at the scene.

We used to lease 6500 acres in Stonyford area for hunting, and they burned the rice fields every year out there. This was 1996-2002.

Was doing a bit more reading on it, looks like they didn't start to move away from it until the early 2000s. Apparently some areas are still burned to resolve disease, etc. Glad it wasn't the start of yet another fire event. We've had more than enough.

I know if your closer to Sacramento your really restricted. The wind has to be blowing to the north. I know when a lot were trying flooding an tilling. There were some type of disease happening.

in addition to disease, apparently rice weevils, army worms and tadpole shrimp have been issues. Found this when I was reading about burning :pccoffee:

Can't even imagine how difficult it is to be in the farming business - be it rice or anything else.

Rice rolling doesn't get rid of stem rot nor will it get rid of "the blast". The blast is a enzyme usually found in the heads or seed pods left from a type of mite, causing the heads to rot to dust before ready for harvest. Burn that crap and it goes away.

I worked in rice for about six years through high school and there following few years. Hated it! I did learn way more than I'll ever use

Case number is always same day. It’s great that you are able to produce a report on the same day.
