Why do Americans still use slotted screws ?

    I don't mind Phillips, but flat head shouldn't be used for anything important as far as I'm concerned. I like allen & now that I have a decent torx set I say it's not bad, but it's just always hard for me to find the screws/bolts/nuts/washers that I really want for whatever I'm doing.

    Slotted screws are great when you need to tighten a screw with a butter knife because your spouse moved your toolkit and you are to lazy to find it.

    set screws are usually best with allen but when they get down to about 3mm or smaller a slotted is the only option.

    I have multiple sets of screw drivers for different things but for slotted and Phillips small screws I use this set of Harbor Freight - Pittsburg Tools all the time.
    I prefer a solid driver to a handle with replaceable ones.
