That’s why we love dogs. Consistently happy to see you and want to be near you, whether you said the wrong thing, acted like a dick when you got home or whatever. Doesn’t matter , all is forgiven !

Both dogs love sleeping on my bed, I let them because they tend to bark at the neighbors dogs if they’re elsewhere in the house.
Sunday night I had to move Smokey from my spot over to the right side of the bed, when I fell asleep he was nuzzled into my shoulder and Athena was curled up beside my legs. When I woke up Monday morning I had moved to the center of my bed and I had a dog on each side curled up beside me, they’re awesome not only for companionship but also security and warmth.

As I’ve said before, I could live without a dog but not as well.

At work, they have a video board that people can submit pictures to that are supposed to represent why you work safely. I think they thought it would be pictures of everyone’s kids or significant other but there are more dog pictures than anything

We took our male Schnauzer to the vet today thinking he may have a allergy or sinus infection. He has a runny nose with some colored discharge. They x-rayed him and gave a thorough look over. Don’t know what he has so they gave him some antibiotics. He has had S.A.R.D.S. For a while which made him go blind back in February. Now they want to test for Cushing disease, liver functions, blah, blah, blah. I’m starting to think it’s all about the money and not the care of the animal. Our normal vet is on vacation and his temp is doing the diagnosis. To do the test for Cushings is $1000 at a specialist about 100 miles away. If it is that it’ll be $200 a month from then on. This is a family pet and he is almost 10 years old. His quality of life is still good, he has gained some weight since the on set of S.A.R.D.S which is common with a blind dog and he probably only has 2 more years left in his life. I have already spent $2200 this year on vet bills. What would you do if this was your pet, spend the $3400-4000 a year or let nature take it course? Btw, the med will not make him better only extend his life 6 months to a year, maybe.
