    I’ve been consistent with my gym schedule this week, rest day tonight as well as a break from fasting because I was informed a few hours ago that I have a PT test at 0730 tomorrow.
    I did notice earlier in the week that I have slight shin splints so I’ve eased up on the treadmill and started biking more for cardio.
    Another officer told me just to run through them (that’s what he did at basic training) and eventually they just go numb but that sounded like terrible advice so I found a YouTube video that recommends 2 exercises for strengthening the muscles on the front of the leg.

    I also got my hands on my physical (pre academy requirement) and according to the doctor my recommended weight loss is 30-40 lbs, I think she’s off by at least 30 lbs. (310 at the time of physical)

    Take shin splints seriously. Those things can get bad.

    I agree do other cardio until they improve.

    I remember those back when I started running.

    I’ve had them before and they go away within 2 weeks usually, this was the first time I’d heard of strengthening the other muscles to help prevent them.
    I’ve been enjoying the bike as my other cardio, it keeps my heart rate up and it’s slightly easier to vary the difficulty.

    You’ll be fine, I did a 25 hour fast on the 16th without planning on it.

    Had Italian for my moms birthday last night. Chicken tort Alfredo and only finished half of it. I don’t understand how people eat like shit everyday. Fasting till 11 this morning.

    When you are used to fasting and your nutrition is on point its fine. You really don’t get hungry, you just want to eat. Its just a habit.

    I don’t get it either.

    I guess people eat like that so much the misery for them is normal so they don’t know what feeling good is anymore so they don’t realize how bad they actually feel.

    Has anyone here tried Transparent Labs Stim-free preworkout?

    I’m interested in trying a preworkout but am only interested in stimulant/caffeine free ones. They also have to be dye-free and <1g carb per serving or ideally zero carb.

    If anyone has any good recommendations that fit that bill pass them along. Transparent labs is $50/30 servings. I’d use 2-3 servings a week but I’m a cheap bastard.

    Do you hitch like a fool when you pull in strongman? Guy I compete with does it so drastic that he almost falls backwards every time.

    I have only been doing protein for recovery post workout. I am a little afraid of preworkout, cause there were guys in the oilfield whose favorite part of their workout was the preworkout. That shit had the wildest names and brightest colors, idk looked like fundip for adults, and seemed to have the same effect...

    I've never been a pre workout fan and don't use it. Going to the gym gets me stimulated enough to get my gains and go home. Now since I am chemically enhanced if I do want a pre workout lift about 30 min before I lift I will inject 75 mg of testosterone base which is TNE or test no ester. Being no ester it rapidly enters the system and you feel that ball of energy in your diaphragm start to build and expand. Next thing you know you are moving some serious shit. I will only use it on days I'm seriously depleted though because that feeling is addictive.

    Why don’t you just make your own pre?
    Mine isn’t really a stim. I just take beta alanine and creatine and mix it in a few ounces of orange juice to make the acidity of the BA. I usually have an afternoon coffee or espresso around 2-3. Then take the pre about 4 and finish some work and then start my workout about 430

    just make your own. That’s what I do and it’s super cheap and you know exactly what you’re putting in it. I do caffeine, beta alanine, and caffeine and I use emergenC for flavor. If you take out the caffeine you’d have stim free and all the other free you want and it’s like pennies per serving...

    What are you afraid of? It’s no different than drinking an energy drink or coffee

    you can still get a “pump” or a little tingle from the beta alanine :notsure:

    I just take 2-400 mg caffeine (depending on how I feel) and then 4-5g beta alanine. Best workouts ever.

    if I ever went back to where I was looking for a pump I’d end up adding some NOx to get the blood flowing a little more.
