Which is why I don't buy laundry detergent and use oil instead. Also has the added benefit of making me more flammable.

Dunno. You were talking about blow by gases. That has more to do with the PCV than the EGR I thought.

GBR is right. Pcv takes from the valve cover area. The EGR takes directly from the Exhaust. Not just the "blow by." Plus GBR rhymes with EGR so he must be right.

Note to self: Remind TOYOTA not to include oil service schedules in the manual because they have an exhaust system.

Remind Toyota to ignore any data that informs them of a reasonable oil change interval and arbitrarily put in a blanket 5000 mile OCI for everybody.

I stopped changing TOYOTA long life coolant 19yrs ago. Never have had a leak, overheating, or water pump failure, so there’s that...

Now how to put a Porche 911 on a Tacoma hm

Didn't discover it in 60 minutes. Spent years getting a degree in it.
Also, somewhere in the last 60 pages I posted a picture from changing my oil at 2500miles. Sooo....

Toyota is only using EGR so they can show a need for intake injectors. And laugh at other direct injection only manufacturers.

PCV GBR EGR HIV ABCDEFG I got the wrong EGR. I was talking about the one that takes the exhaust that goes into the engine instead of out, HIV

I got a weird CEL when I changed my oil at 10,001 miles. Can anyone explain?? Is this from all the blow by gases because I wore my rings out, or is this more from the EGR valve. Or is this entirely related to the purge control valve?

Seems reasonable for these cars. They’re in for repair so often, it doesn’t matter what the intervals are. They still break down.
