Sounds good to me! That is 3 hours from my house in East Cobb, so I'll leave a bit before 8. I'm going to hit 75S from the 120 loop, hit 285E, then up 85N. If anyone is close to my start point, PM me and we can convoy up.

Forecast says 100% chance of rain tomorrow :D.

    Wear your boots!

There should be enough of us that it shouldn't pose a problem as we will have plenty of vehicles for recovery etc. Supposedly there is a gate that is (possibly) currently open from Musterground to Chestnut Mountain via Auger Hole. If the gate is open, we will go this way as it is supposedly a "once in a lifetime" opportunity before it gets closed again.

I have a CB, but the antenna was mounted to the bed rails. When I put the camper top on, the antenna came off. I'm ordering the CaliRaised antenna mount, but it won't be here in time for this trip. So unless someone has a spare handheld, I'll just be yelling out the window.

Hope to make it but do not wait on me if I am unable! Schedule is a little dependent on when my brother's flight gets moved to now.

If you guys do decide to go all the way through to the gate, make sure you have a winch and are ready to get to work. From my understanding from @Matic is there is a pretty big mud field towards the end that you have to go through.

Any info you can point us to on said mud hole? With the forecast rain, this might be better avoided.

Can't find the original post about the mud field but the bottom of page 11 shows the reminder not to wheel alone if you are going from Musterground through to Chestnut (exiting at Gorges park).

The post I remember reading essentially stated that someone came upon a bunch of stuck jeepers winching out due to heavy mud.

I think if everyone's 4WD and you keep your momentum, you should be fine. I went through it unlocked with a little speed with no problems.

The stuck jeeps were coming from Chestnut side which meant going uphill. Coming from Musterground you're going downhill.

Looks like Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow at the in laws after all. Hoping y’all take good notes on Musterground. Looks like a neat area to explore.
