Or Supertech (which is cheaper). Both made by Warren distribution, both API SN Plus certified, both (probably) identical.

Its just expensive, but far from junk. I'd run it if the price matched the performance.

Its not trying to be an extended interval oil but is marketed as a high performance (I'd argue racing) oil which is marketed based on its film color. By that logic, comparing it to non racing oils is a little bit apples to oranges.

Are there any advantages to running this oil over other synthetics on the market? - Based on the oil reports I've looked at - No. Best oil out there? No way. But you could come to this conclusion by looking at the oil analysis for lots of racing oils.

    This is one man's opinion.

I use it. Found it on sale for $24 for 5 quart jugs, so bought a case. Understand the 2011 just turned over 40k. I change the oil on a calendar basis, not mileage. Truck has never had an issue starting at way negative temps after a 12 hour outside soak, no leaks or engine tics. I wouldn't necessarily "recommend" it, unless you find a screaming deal.

I also became a member and it came out reasonably priced. I would definitely not run the 25,000 mile change interval. I’m sticking to the 10,000 mile mark. I figured since the trucks paid off and I plan on keeping it for as long as possible why not put a top tier oil. Plus I’m a sucker for cool slogans and advertising lol

My biggest debate was my filter choice. After hours of researching I couldn’t see anything better then the oem Denso filter.

Newbs love the crap, they freak out and tell all their friends they put it in, and they act like they got the latest Iphone. I bought too much of the stuff a long time ago, and I am not impressed by RP, plus anyone ever notice that in almost all car movies or even other random movies they have barrels of the SHIT everywhere. Seems as they advertise more than trying to beat the competition. Some of the best oils ever haven’t had hardly any advertising.

Most any Synthetic will be fine. The only advantage to RP is the high zinc/phos content(in the HPS oil). If you live in a non smog control state, the HPS is way better than most oils. If you care about your cats, dont use any oils with a high zinc content.

Most Toyota engines dont wear much. On my 85 4x4 22R engine, I used Chevron Delo15/40 til I had 590k miles.

Sounds about right. Seen it with my own two eyes many times over, Toyota engines are EASY on the oil. The oil additive packages (all oils have em, that's the proprietary part) last forever in Yota engines.
You got 600k on a 22R? Wait til you see when you turn 1,000,000 miles on your 3RZ. It'll be more common than any of us realize. Wait, you're in some new looking thing. Well your engine will still last longer than the 22R, and that's saying something because the 22R and 22RE could really really rack up the miles without major major problems

My synthetic of choice is Pennzoil Ultra. I easily would take it over anything else as it is cost effective and provides superior protection. You could put Mobil 1 and RP in front of me and I'd still take Pennzoil Ultra.

Royal Purple is good but overpriced for what you get. Amsoil and Redline are overkill and a waste of money (in my opinion) unless you are actually drag racing, autox'ing, or any other actual race duties.

I like the fact that Pennzoil took the time to develop a better oil. Natural gas is way better than crude oil as a base stock(after refining).

If you see WPP on the bottom of the Amazon oil jug, then it was made by Warren Petroleum Products. WPP also supplies Walmart.

If Zing/ phos are important to you, just run Valvoline VR1. Typically 1/3 of the price of RP and you dont have to tell anybody that you use RP.

Well you could argue that Group IV is better than any group III basestock and that would make a "better oil".

Coming from the Subaru community, Royal Purple was never a good choice in the archaic Ej motors. Saw many a bearing failure suffered by Royal Purple users when I was in CS. Royal Purple always thinned out and either burned off, or spun bearings. I avoid it like the plague and would never even remotely considered running it in my Taco. I’m currently running Valvoline synthetic with the intention to eventually change over to Motul.

I don't know anybody that's run Royal Purple. Couple years ago I remember Pop's calling and asking me about it and I told him. I don't think it caught on out here in the west, the way it caught on in the South and East with it's Nascar sponsorship leading the way. We didn't fall for it out here:D
