Pretty common dealership practice, unfortunate its a Toyota dealer, I'd recommend writing to Toyota via the website, I always get good feedback, stuff taken care of when I reach out to corporate about one of their dealers. I see your in NJ, which dealer? I worked with Holman and liked them when I was stationed there, but lots of skezzy ones there too.

I guess, problem is I've seen different invoice pricing for similar specs the last few trucks I've bought, dealers can say whatever they want is invoice. In AZ it was $37k, here in IL they claimed it was $39k. I offered $36.5k for my current truck (tech prem TRD Sport 4WD DCSB) and was told that invoice was $39k, they let me walk and then I got a phone call to make a deal for $37k, 15 mins later with them swearing up and down they were losing money but wanted to meet volume/sales numbers.

That may be true but I print invoice off in black and white. You invoice will vary from truck to truck and options but there is not a huge mark up in Toyota and that’s one reason they hold there values. An sport may have anywhere from 1500 to 1800 mark up. Give or take. A pro is more. Around 2500 to 3000. Give or take. Again each one is individual due to options.

I gotcha, ya as you can tell I've owned a few of these trucks, so Ive seen "invoice" for a few models/specs, but still see the variance or invoice game dealers play, they can print off numbers all day long claiming its invoice, same as the trucar invoice, doesnt mean its truly invoice. I realize you don't practice this way and probably do sell at invoice, but often times dealers claimed invoice isnt really invoice and consumers don't necessarily know any better and think they are getting a deal.

FYI. True car is usually $500 over invoice. I am sure dealers do play the invoice game. I simply am up front and show invoice. On the same piece of paper it also shows dealer holdback and finance reserve. When the customer wants that also I do not budge as we are not in the business to lose money to put a person in the truck. Invoice minus and rebates if a fair deal. I am not giving holdback as that also keeps the lights on. I have found 90% understand this and take the truck. Idk, it just works for me. I also do not have managers on my back so I can play a bit. Haha

They can be liable for: Unfair business practices, false advertisement and bait and switch tactics. Call GM asap and tell him that your attorney will be contacting their legal department soon, see how fast they'll make that deal happen.

Thank you all for the feedback. So for additional information, I had been hesitant to blast these guys on-line (we all have jobs and we all make mistakes... but own your mistake and take some responsibility). I waited two days before reaching out to Toyota customer service, (to see if the dealership would address their discrepancy... and to clarify their definition of “NO NONSENSE”) but now it has been 5 days, I’ve heard nothing from the dealer (Toyota World of Clinton, in Clinton, NJ), and Toyota customer service sent me the most “non-responsive” response ever, about gas mileage and being eco-friendly... this, after I described in detail Toyota World of Clinton’s deceptive practice (see below). I appreciate the feedback, and I’ll e-mail the GM as suggested, but at this point, their lack of transparency makes me want to move on from the Toyota brand entirely.

You'll sell a lot more trucks printing the invoice. Makes people feel more comfortable when they are spending a decent chunk of change.

The two dealers i went to before I purchased would only scribble things in sharpie and would never send me anything in writing. Just be honest with your customers and they will be happy.

Had a similar issue at a local dealership. I just kept asking for printouts. Writing. Anything besides the garbage they were writing down on printer paper! They said "oh we don't do that"

I found a dealer that was happy to offer me all the numbers on paper.

2019 TRD OR SB 6M/T for 32 + TTL (no freight charge). Probably not the best deal but I was having a very hard time finding what I wanted, and this dealer was 3 hours away. I did the deal completely over phone. Saw the internet price, offered a few hundred dollars off, and gave them my credit card number for the deposit.

Oh, and they offered to pick me up 3 hours away. I was happy to take the train to them and have them pick me up a bit closer.

I think total price after tacking on an 8 year, 75k warranty and 6 years of unlimited wheel and tire coverage was about 36,500. 6.625% NJ sales tax.

I think that's high for a 19 but some prices do depend on what region you're buying in.

That’s like 18% off MSRP, no way in hell your getting them to $36k.

I just snagged a loaded sport with a $42,300 MSRP for $37000 without rebates and they did not want to make that deal. I get that it’s got a bunch of add ons inflating the MSRP but the dealer still paid for those they’re not gonna take that big of a loss. I would say if you can get them to $38000 you got a great deal. 10-12% off MSRP is where you want to be and after buying a sh*t ton of these in all different regions I haven’t seen them go much further if at all. Good luck!

Based upon what I have seen as well as my own experience, I would say that the best deal you could make would be 37600. That's about 85% of MSRP. Offer them that and see if they accept.

Predators, mud flaps, all weather mats, desert air intake.

$42,860 (includes delivery and all accessories & DAI) + $300 dealer fee, + 1.06% tax.

$45,465. - best part is, this also includes the GAP insurance and the Toyota 10 yr / 100k mile warranty.

I did put $6k down. No trade in.

Here's the kicker. I'm paying $4 less a month than I was on the 2017 Sport.

Look back to my post. Looks like the truck I got is exactly what you're looking for except I have the oval tube steps instead of the predators.

Purchased my 2019 Tacoma TRD OR DB SB with auto tranny a few days ago. It was a dealer demo vehicle with 9800km's on it. Listed for $43,500cdn and I got it down to $40,500cdn. Plus they gave me the $12k I wanted for my 2015 VW Sportwagen TDI with no haggling, and they threw in a trim-fold soft tonneau cover as well. 13% Ontario sales tax and $6k down. 2.99% financing.

I just bought a 2019 OR DCSB 4x4 for $38,000 flat OTD. That includes taxes and fees. Toyota also gave me 0% financing! I thought it was a pretty sweet deal.
