    A few.
There is usually always a clause at the bottom if the page thats states "not responsible for typographical errors" on advertisements now. So not much we can do there. Also its possible the salesman didnt know the difference between an sr and sr5. Especially if he wasnt there very long. Auto salespeople tend to jump around from dealer to dealer.
Next time try to do a little more research and take your time. Getting your first vehicle is exciting and its hard to keep your emotions under control.

I would say do go back to the same dealer and salesperson. Knowing what you know now things would be different. If you want to play games take a friend or relative to the same guy and go through the whole buying process and back out of it at the last minute.

I bet the first Girl/Person that drops there knickers in that truck and you make out with does not care if it is an SR or SR5 if it got cheap plastic chrome caps on the bumper or a 4 or 6 cyl under the hood.:D:D:D

Lesson learned very early in Life that you will remember down the road. Enjoy your new ride and post some pics when you got your 1st mods.

Bud you got an awesome truck and like all vehicles, you've got a blank slate to make it yours!

My parents were always ok with mods and making the vehicles I had mine, however I knew a lot of people who had parents that weren't so keen on them making changes, thinking factory was fine.(crap my girlfriends parents still complain about me putting LED interior and reverse lights on HER car, and shes 40! Something about me voiding warranties :der:).

Anyway, now you've got an angle if you need it. If you need to make a change, you can always use this experience as justification.

I wish they'd ripped me off! I bought an SR. If a week later I found out it was an SR5, that would be nice.

SR Tacomas are great. And that 2.7 engine is solid.

Always assume that the dealership is out to get your money. There is no honesty in car dealerships- verbally.

On the flip side, Rock that SR. If you didn't want a sunroof or jbl, then the SR will do everything the SR5 will and can do.

I'd be VERY careful of making statements about anyone on social media...unless YOU want to get sued! People often confuse "slander" and "libel".

That's the textbook definition of "libel" - "to publish in print (including pictures), writing or broadcast through radio, television or film, an untruth about another which will do harm to that person or his/her reputation, by tending to bring the target into ridicule, hatred, scorn or contempt of others. Libel is the written or broadcast form of defamation, distinguished from slander which is oral defamation. It is a tort (civil wrong) making the person or entity (like a newspaper, magazine or political organization) open to a lawsuit for damages by the person who can prove the statement about him/her was a lie."

Your 18 and drive a Tacoma the SR5 stuff is really not that big of a deal. At 18 I would have that truck killed before I turned 20, so when you go to buy your next one you'll be better informed.

I mean just search Tacomas on Carvana or Cars.com or Cargurus or whatever similar site and see how many are misidentified. Sports called ORs, ORs called sports, ORs called Pros, SR5s called everything else. It's the same when I was looking at Wranglers. It's crazy how little people know about the vehicles they are selling.

    This^^^

Especially if it’s not a Toyota Dealership. When I sold my 2013 SR5 to a local Chevy dealership, the salesman and appraiser asked if my factory fender flares were aftermarket ?
I had fog lights that weren’t even wired and retrofitted headlights that they thought were OEM

Oh and they thought my 4cyl was a 6

one thing I have learned in life if is the price is too good to be true. It is... all in all love your truck. There are people who can’t afford them out there and would kill for even a sr. They’re good trucks :)

That's true, but the burden of proof (and legal fees) are all yours! You have to ask yourself if the potential ramifications of legal action are worth it?

How'd you like to be at work and someone in a law enforcement uniform walks up and "serves you" with papers and tells you you're being sued by "Dealership X"? I've seen the look on people's faces and it's chilling...shall we say.

In the OP's case...I'd say learn what you can from the lesson and then move on and enjoy your life.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
18 years old and parents still buying you a car? I bet you’ll be more informed when you are spending your own money. As others said, life lesson, and enjoy what you have.
