As a kid growing up in Detroit we would go to the auto show as cheap entertainment. They would have all the futureisic looking cars that they said we would drive someday. Well guess what, we are driving them. Never thought you would not need a key to start a car, unless you were a car thief.

I like the above GMC, though worse than my Sport for seeing over the hood.

Brother wants one but I doubt he will give up his fj. Everyone else I know thinks it’s ugly. Some of the stats look great but that’s about it. Also what is “up to” for the clearance mean lol. Also from what he told me the preorder is only for the most expensive model not the lower two

"Up to" is because it has an adaptive air suspension.
The preorder is for all models. Production on the single/dual motor ones starts in 2021 and the tri motor starts in 2022.

Ahh, that makes more sense, I was thinking a bs marketing term that all motor companies try to do, one thing I don’t like about Tesla is the price of the car listed has subtracted gas use. So it would say 36k but is really 40. Anyway, I like the look of the other Tesla’s but not so much this one

With that heavy SS? it is made of, when the batteries catch on fire, you'll still have the body left to retrofit back to original. Maybe Tesla will market a kit to do that. :)

The truck is supposedly listed as actual purchase price. (Of course, not all options are available yet)
The other cars on the website let you see the actual purchase price separate from the 'include potential savings' option as well.

I guess I’ll be the first douche on here to admit that I put a deposit down on one. It’s ugly as hell, but I’d like to see what the final product comes out to. Plus, the deposit is fully refundable...

Plenty of people in the original thread have put deposits down on them. I would if I had any means of actually buying one when they came out.

And if Tesla were to go under in 2 years there won't be anything to pay back to anyone. So maybe they just pulled in $20,000,000 in cashflow to keep the charade going a bit longer...

I have a theory Telsa could have put out a truck shaped like an iphone smiley turd face and people would go gaga over it anyway.

I especially love the long steeply sloped windshield, just perfect for decreasing visibility by making you look through a thicker layer glass and additional dirt you're gonna have to look through, because.... aerodynamics!

$20,000,000 is really not that much money. Even if they invest it and something crazy like 20% over the course of the year, it's really not that much. I think you're right that it's free money but I suspect they are using it as leverage on investors with deep pockets.

I don't think oh anyone as a douche for buying one. I think the truck is ugly but I also wonder if I'm to Young to appreciate it. As a truck, I expect the performance will be fantastic.

At the release party they had a ton of vehicles from the 80s and early 90s that looked like they were the inspiration for the truck. Given that it was called the "cyber truck", maybe we shouldn't have been surprised.
