This one specifically is the one that got the gears turning.

 

What's the benefit of going with one of them over a 4runner? It looks kinda similar to the 3-4th gen 4runner style.

Just preference?

 

Bigger. These are more like a Land Cruiser but they can be found cheaper since everyone is fighting for good used Land Cruisers.

I could also let @Gunshot-6A can speak for himself, I suppose. That is a nicely done GX though!

 

Land Cruiser Prado chassis, V8, comfy as all get-out. The aftermarket is showing up for them, too. And did I mention V8?

 

Preference, and it is the oft forgotten middle ground between the 4runner and the V8 LC200. Downside is the aftermarket is very limited for the 460. The 470 is starting to catch on so it is growing there, but Metaltech basically owns the parts market for the 460.

Upside is I can fold down the 40% middle seat and make a full size sleeping platform for one. So I wouldn't need the tent 95% of the time.

I thought Magnusson finally announced theirs?

 

Yeah they showed it at SEMA this month. These have been a long time coming and it's going to be great to see the options, URD's Rotrex vs Magnusson's roots style blower. Both look like they'll hit the market in the near future.

Yeah, there's a few announced. We just need to see one in the wild. lol. and somehow I need to find 6k in my budget.
