Sounds like a pump running?

So I parked my Tacoma in the garage...couple hours later I went out to feed the dogs and there's a noise coming out from the back of the truck, like a pump running or something? Fuel Pump is back there or maybe something to do with emissions?
Anyone know what it is? I started the truck up and shut it off after a minute, noise gone.

Yes new member with first post as a question, oh well. Been viewing this forum since I purchased this 2019 Tacoma in June. I have only owned Toyota pick-ups since 1994 and I wish they still made the 2dr base standard MT.

Smog pump. It’s in the owners manual.

Maybe the Evap canister pump doing a test?

Thanks I'll read up on it. Good to know that there isn't an alien living under the bed of my truck.

Just cause the evap system is working its magic I would still check for that alien. They get into garages to hide during cold weather.

    Well, I'll be damned.

Several weeks ago my wife went to the garage late at night and heard this strange noise coming from the rear of the truck. She recorded the video of the noise so I could hear it and I had assumed it was the powered subwoofer oscillating. Now we know what that buzzing noise was.

TW is a wealth of knowledge!
