Very cool, saw it in the canyon but never got up. Will have to do it next time... Spent a lot of time way up the canyon though, so beautiful.

Did some wheeling, found some hot springs, froze our butts off at night. 10/10 would do again. Right off the Sonora Pass :D

A few from some trips over the past few months. Mostly spend my time in western NC and north GA but looking to venture out next year. Still trying to decide on my favorite setup between the hammock, truck bed and tent.

What is that? eno rain tarp or shelter? How's it clipped in with the poles off the back?

It's an eno rain tarp, tied the front corners to the rear door handles and used a couple trekking poles with guy lines to stake out the rear corners. Here's another shot, worked out surprisingly well. I also used a trekking pole to keep the center of the tarp up so the rain wouldn't pool up. In hindsight I probably shouldn't use the rear door handles since that cord could theoretically be abrasive to the paint, but it served my purposes on that trip.

Believe it or not, it only takes a few minutes to set up once you figure out how you want to secure everything. I'm in the market for a slighter larger tarp now, that one does well in all but heavy rain when it's coming down sideways.

Thanks for the other shot. I've been thinking of doing something like that for a while. I've been looking at using this tarp, but I have an access cab with no shell. So I'd want to use the lines with buckles they show going around the rear tires either over the room and around my front tires or nerf bar to cover the bed and a little extra off the back.

That looks like a solid solution. Only real issue I had was not being able to get into the back seats easily to retrieve various gear/clothes, the buckles on the straps you mentioned would be pretty convenient in that regard. If you pull the trigger post some pics, I'd love to see the coverage you get and see how sturdy it ends up being.

Thinking of a RLD cap as well. What is the lead time on them as they’re manufactured in South Africa?
