Yeah, the more I looked at it, the more I wondered if HDMI cable was really connecting the monitor. Not sure I have a VGA cable. Just threw a shit ton of stuff away that didn't think I'd ever use again.

 

If I was a nerd the fucking thing would be working!

There is that. I didn't grow up with a computer, or phone, in my hand. Baseball bat, and glove, was my childhood.

 

I was lucky. I had a stick and rocks. Then my parents bought five acres of poison oak.

Well, seems my monitor is older VGA type, and graphics card is DVI. Both have HDMI but new computer not recognizing that, at this time. Damn.

Edit: or you may use DVI cable. As @t.hornstra mentioned, most likely a driver issue.

 

If you want to drive down to Milpitas, I could loan you a collection of DVI adapter cables and/or a DVI display. We have all that shit at work.

 

I’ve heard they’re having engine issues. Not sure exactly what the issue is but I’ve heard a few have let go in a spectacular way.

 

Thanks for the offer. Just ordered a cable that goes from VGA to DVI, on Amazon for 7 bucks, delivered tomorrow.

 

So we stop at a food trailer that sells BBQ and the guy says, "I won't eat the tri tip or the ribs from the other guy here in town."
We ask why what's so bad about it?
He says " well I lost my front teeth and my brother-in-law don't have ANY and we both can eat my ribs and tri tip.

 

Really? That sucks to hear. I heard many of the parts (including the engine) are from BMW. Might explain a few things....

 

Pretty much just the engine is from BMW. But yeah, that might explain something.

 

Great. Depending on the graphics card and the version of the cable you got, you’re all set. There are 3 flavors of DVI - DVI-A, DVI-D & DVI-I.
