    Whole lotta stuff
little preload is not a bad thing either, helps them wheels stick to the road

TBH, my 700s are worn out a bit, I have them preloaded 2" and it does handle quite well. But @Gilmorec61 said he didn't want much preload.

    Matthew,

Sent an email few days ago requesting information on rear bump stops. Just wondering if you've received it.

    Thanks

I have ext on all 4’s and only have longer brake lines in the rear...the amount of travel will depend on your leaf pack. Running a Dakar would put the stock brake lines too tight at full droop IMO

Gotcha! What’s your setup bump stop wise front and rear to keep the ext shocks from internally bottoming out?

You will not need extended brake line for the front. Even with extended travel, the suspension droops does not limit out the OE brake lines.

I agree with @SpeySquatch (that’s twice this week ) you will need get them for the rear. The rear travel will still be limited by the shock regardless of leaf pack but you will gain a couple inches of down travel that will exceed the limit of the rear lines.

Also, to touch of rebuild intervals.

This is based purely off your use. If you’re doing 99% street miles with the ocasional fire road you’ll be able to push the 50k limit (yes, people have exceeded that number but I’ve worked on enough shocks to not recommend it. It’s just not worth it.)

If you hit the dirt more often, or you driving style is rather aggressive when you do hit the dirt, then that interval will drop. Being in SoCal, most guys around here hit the desert or similar style of driving which really works a shock. I personally recommend 30k service intervals for most people. It will make sure you maintain the best performance of the shock while also protecting them from damage of parts failure.

I let mine full droop in the rear with stock lines and it was scary tight to the point I only let it for a few seconds before reducing the droop. Added +4” lines and it looked much happier. That being said, the extended length of the rear shocks showed 10.2” of shock shaft. Just for anyone wondering

I’m currently running 700lb coils on my 3rd gen with skids, sliders, second battery, bed rack, and RTT. Does completely fine and isn’t too stiff at all.

So I went 650lb springs, just because I'm lighter when I'm going to work etc. Hybrid bumper, sliders, skid plates and rear bumper.

It rides really well for me, obviously I'm not taking off the armor but I DD my rig and and I'm still on a ground tent so I can remove a lot of weight. 700lbs would be the choice if you're going to be loaded up all the time with dual battery, RTT, bed rack, full armor. Just my 2¢

Let us know if you see sag after a year. When I asked ADS they recommended 700#. Will be interested to hear back

Yeah I went with 700lbs just because I'm gonna be fully loaded for a good portion of the year when I have everything going. Thanks for all the input

I am trying to install the rear shocks extended travel.

    1. How do I compress them?

    2. Where does the tophat go? Does it go below the upper shock mount or above. Which way does the curve face? What goes on top of the shock mount? The OEM pad that was up there?

    Thank you, please help!
