Mine showed up I do like the feel of quality with luck I might never need to put them to the test.

My luck is never that good.

That’s what I use and hang them from magnetic hooks on the side of my tool box.

    https://www.amazon.com/GREATMAG-Mag...d=1574599285&sprefix=neodymium+magnet+&sr=8-4

They hold 80 lbs each so it’s no problem. I thought loading up drawers was inefficient for the limited space I have. I also like that I can grab a whole set and not have to make multiple trips back to the box.

It also uses space otherwise untapped.

Damn that’s a clever use of that space.

    Thanks.

You might be able to make it out but I also color in the socket sizes with a white grease pencil. I tried the black but it didn't do it for me. Buff off the excess with a Dobie. Makes the numbers pop, good for my aging eyes...

    Good winter project.

I'm getting so tired of virtually every task requiring reading glasses and a headlamp. Add Peltors and a dust mask and I feel like I'm fucking scuba diving with all that shit strapped to my head.

I'm right there with you brotha...

I've got reading glasses placed strategically throughout the house and a pair in the garage. I bought a display of these at a local Sears hardware store that was closing down and they're also placed accordingly:

I'm in the same boat, sucks switching between bi-focals and reading glasses constantly. Father Time is a humorless cocksucker!

I've tried bifocal safety glasses, but I've generally found them to be more distracting than safe because of all the weird angles looking at your work requires, whether under a truck or using a circular saw. Still need a better solution.

Well, damn. Went way out of my way to a NAPA today under the premise of needed some TB cleaner just to get my fingers on a Carlyle ratchet and hope they also had a Gearwrench there to compare.

    They had neither. :bananadead:

Said their tool section is being redone. Anybody using a Carlyle and have an opinion on them? Or GW?

I’m interested in a flex head 3/8”. Can’t justify a Matco or SO.

I’ve been looking at their sockets lately too to fill in some gaps. Didn’t see any flex head ratchets on their website though.

    You like their sockets?

    https://www.tekton.com/ratchets-and-breaker-bars?ratchet-type=flex-head

I just have their 3/8" x 18 in ratchet and 1/2" x 24 in ratchet but I've seen reviews that are good on their other stuff.

I have Matco impact sockets and ratcheting wrenches from my tech days but they're overkill for home use. I'm sure Tekton sockets would be fine for shadetree.

I was going for the comfort grip, not the standard per se.

    A thing or two...
I have some Tekton stuff as well, and so far it all seems to be quality. I've got a set of dead blow hammers, a set of swivel, 6-pt ratcheting wrenches, and a set of shallow 1/2" drive impact sockets. The wrenches and dead blows have seen the most use, and I like them. The wrenches were a lifesaver when I was fitting the fiberglass bedsides on my truck for getting between the cab and bed.

I got some Gearwrench ratcheting wrenches when a couple of Sears hardware stores were closing in my area. They work as advertised...
