Maxtrac Spindle Lift for 2nd Gen Prerunners

If you don't lift it any higher it will just fit. The garage door needs to be up all the way.

 

Will MaxTrac 4inch spindles fit my 2009 Tacoma Prerunner 6 lug with SCS 16x8 with a 4inch Backspacing?

I’m thinking of getting the MaxTrac spindle lift kit for my 2012 Tacoma prerunner. This truck is not a daily driver and I was wondering what would be best 4” or 6.5”? I like the 6.5” look but not sure what else I need to consider before getting this lift. Any help is appreciated.

 

Lots and lots of options here, Jonathan. Take your time and keep asking those questions.

You can piece together a kit using the spindles and coilovers (instead of spindles and spacer) for a nice looking lift that performs.

 

Yea that’s what I was leaning towards because I don’t want blocks or spacers because from my research those aren’t great for the long run. Looks like I need to do some research on coil overs now.

I can also talk to you about it in here. It started out very simple with Maxtrac 4" spindles (they'll come with extended brake lines) and Dakar Leaf packs with extended length bilstein shocks & brake lines out back.

I've since then added coilovers and aftermarket uppers for 6.5" inch lift that looks sweet.

I've recently purchased a full set of ADS performance shocks front and rear with remote resi. Cant wait for those to get here.

I'm a full proponent of 'buy once cry once' but you CAN do this is steps that wont kill your budget.

Mine is currently resting in peace because the ADS stuff is pricey af haha.

 

so the big thing ive learned with my setup with my ICON extended travel coilovers, total chaos UCAs, and my Maxtrac spindles...I currently have too much camber correction from my UCAs. Thats because my truck, I have the coilovers lowered down to nothing practically, so all my lift is from the spindles only; other than Taco lean compensation. So...I'm stuck with like 1.2-1.5* of negative camber until I either raise the coilovers (which im not ever gonna do), get Heimed uppers with more adjustment, or go LT and get upgraded arms and coilovers. kinda sucks....but if the tires get regularly rotated, they are fine lol. the truck sits very level at 4"/3"

Anyone here with the Maxtrac's installed have the LSK stock LCA? It has a bracket that keeps the ball joint in compression that would normally bolt to the bottom of the stock spindle. If you do, do they fit without modification? If not, how much did you have to machine off?

 

I have a little running issue on the wheel well and intend on just cutting the fender. Would a maxtrac 4” lift help. Is there any cons to the maxtrac

 

What's your suspension and w/t setup? No real cons in my opinion

 

I have the stock sport suspension which are bilstein and 3 inch blocks In the front. 285/70/17 BFG and methods

 

So please correct me if im wrong, but you were unable to get a good alignment with just the TC ucas and maxtrac spindles without any lift from your coilovers? I was thinking about doing this (using the spindles for lift and staying at 4") but now im considering just getting some stock toyota ucas and pulling off the TC uppers. Really glad i read your post. that is correct, the TC UCAs have built in camber correction for 1.5-3" of lift for a coilover lift, not a spindle lift. because the maxtracs done mess with the geometry at all, having the coilover at "stock" height, its over correcting and pulling the top of the wheel in farther than its supposed to be. so im stuck with like -1.3* camber on both sides until I get long travel.

you could always get the LR UCAs that have an adjustable camber setting for the balljoint if you dont want to run stock UCAs. I would get different UCAs, but im gonna be trying to get long travel next year, so theres no point in getting different suspension if everything is gonna change anyways lmao. yup! no problem haha, I didnt even think about until I tried getting it fixed, the camber just kept getting maxed out around -1.0

 

Makes sense. Seriously appreciate you getting this info out there. I wouldve been bummed if i installed mine and then couldnt get a good alignment. Will have to rethink this now

 

yeah I thought I had bent my LCAs possibly lmao, but then it dawned on me that the UCAs give camber correction...so yeah haha. only found out when I put my 37s on my truck lol
