2013 sport. My e brake will not lock up rear wheels. I can press it all the way and it just barely slows me down but truck keeps rolling. I just changed rear pads and springs and adjusted the star mech. Also tried going slow forward and backwards and using e brake thinking that may adjust some. Seems my cable may need adjustment but I cant find where to do this at. Any help is appreciated.

I tightened the cable near the shifter. Helped a lot, but wasn't as good as new.

This is on the 6spd under the cup holders.

Are your rear brake shoes completely worn? Or not adjusted correctly?

Yes. It was doing this before I changed them which is what prompted me to do so. I will adjust the cable tomorrow

I believe the parking brake travel should be 7-10 clicks

It's a parking brake not an ebrake

Trying to lock the wheels up while driving is only going to stretch the crap out of the cable

    1. Put the rear axle on jacks and remove the rear wheels for easier access.
    2. Make sure the parking brake is released.
    3. Through the little access hole on the backing plate, expand the star wheel adjuster until the drum is locked up.
    4. Per the FSM, back off the adjuster 15 clicks. It's best to use two thin screwdrivers for this, one to push open the clicker spring, the other to turn the star wheel.

I have done all of this. My brakes work fine or seem to be with the exception of the parking brake will not hold. I can push it to the floor. Otherwise with the brake pedal they work.

Is the parking brake cable sheath and base fitting still attached to the drum backing plate? It's a known failure point on these trucks with corrosion.
