I found this forum a couple of years ago and it was immediately helpful. I bought my Taco used in 2015. I had no idea Toyota manufactured vehicles without cruise or intermittent wipers, so that’s why the price was so low! Several forum members here gave explicit instructions on installing those and armed with that info and part numbers I was able to order OEM parts and do the work myself since there seems to be a lot of roadblocks created by Toyota to keep owners from doing what I did. Again, thanks to all.
Now for my question: I’m finding myself driving long distances occasionally, often on the interstate, and I’ve noticed a big difference in road noise between my Taco and my wife’s Honda Pilot. Has anyone installed any of the after market sound deadening materials with success? I used to own a ‘97 T100 that I loved and never should have sold. It drove much quieter than this truck and I don’t expect miracles, but can I improve what I have? I really like my Taco. I can haul 12 ft. lumber without using my trailer, and 27 mpg on the highway is normal in warm weather here in Alabama. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I get all my new vehicles undercoated. I also did a 80% sound deading; doors, under headliner, back wall, floor under rear seats. I did not remove front seats because this is a daily driver. Sound deading under the head liner helped big time in a hard rain. Without it was like setting in a drum. I recommend it. Depends on your DYI skills and motivation. YMMV.

Edit: OP also consider the tires you are running. Aggressive OR tires will be louder than street tires.
