    Hello there all you old farts! I've been absent from here for a while but wanted to see how everyone is doing. My timber framing business has been keeping me busy and since the passing of my wife last year, I have a new lady in my life. My truck has been awesome and has yet to give me any grief despite me making her work like a dog. I hope everyone's health is good and your work is treating you well.

    Yes, I see that header board is not very nice. Putting some gussets on top of the joints will add some tension strength back into that cut truss. This kind of thing can be done provided you understand where the loads and stresses are coming from and going to.
