I thought GAP insurance was for when you were basically upside down on a loan to what the actual value was, seems like paying extra for that coverage would be worthless if your vehicle is paid for.

Yes, if a total loss was before a vehicle was paid off for, then yes GAP is used. But if the vehicle is completely paid off, then there would be no GAP.

She probably doesn’t understand that the size, is what it is. It just doesn’t get any bigger.

Ford blew it(IMO), as the cost of the new Ranger is very close to a new Tacoma. I drove the Ranger. It handled better(on road), was more comfortable and is faster.

in the end, I looked at that little 4 with a big Turbo, and thought this sucker will never outlast the Tacoma. I see the Ranger going 150k miles max.

I think the front of the Ranger looks better than the Tacoma, but the rear is FUGLY!

I thought that as well, til I looked tthe price. They are very close. Only thing ford has over Toyota is the 60 months at 0%.

According to the interwebz, roughly 35% of Ford's total sales (cars, trucks, vans, etc) are fleet sales. So even if that translates directly that 35% of F150 sales are for fleets, that still means that they outsold the Tundra 6-to-1.

I've looked extensively at all the mid-size and full-size trucks in my search for my next vehicle. Currently have a 2002 Tahoe with 240k miles (original power-train) and a 2006 Tundra Crew 4x4 with 75k trouble free miles. I am not a biased fanboy. I was excited about the Ranger but quickly learned it is pretty much the same Ranger I drove while working in Australia in 2012 (minus the diesel). The biggest disappointment to me is the turbo 4 Eco-boost for long term reliability. I have a 2017 Fusion with the Eco and the wastegate sounds like crap. It can be embarrassing, not the rattle I want in my truck for 200k + miles. Greatly would have preferred a NA 6. Second, the back seat is a farce in it's functionality. No 60/40 split, the rear upback does not fold flat, the bottom folds up but does not have a flat floor (yes Tacoma could learn from the Ridgeline here). Third, the truck floats like a boat or old Buick sedan. Fourth, the front seat is made for someone who weighs 350lbs, it is way too wide. Fifth, it is a terrible investment as the new Range will be based off the Bronco platform and will have all the modern interior functionality advancements engineered into it. No one is going to choose a 2019-2021 model over a 2022 model. Argue all you want, the Tacoma residuals are outstanding as well as the reliability. Yes the Ranger has a robust and smooth power-train that is the single biggest complaint against the Tacoma. Hoping the shift points eventually get mapped correctly without aftermarket products. I am shopping hard for a TRD OR LB 4x4 QS or Cement with technology plus package. Finding that build has been tough on 41k MSRP trucks.

Fords do have big squishy seats and suspension for American sized butts. Personally if I went ford it would be the f150. Then you really are getting "more truck".

Also the Colorado is the best all-around of these little trucks but I don't see it lasting as long as a Tacoma.

Neither does the Rangers since we're just going by past reliability.

Yea F150 over Ranger if you don’t really have a preference for a mid-size truck. I didn’t care for the interior of the GM twins or the looseness feel of the body and suspension over dirt roads. Tacoma seems a little tighter to me.

I thought the Colorado felt better on the road. More power, better seats, better stereo.

At the end Tommy says he would pick the Toyota if he was buying. Not sure how that’s crapping on toyota.
Sure they showed the drag race results, tough to rig results there.

Tommy and Roman are both irritating IMO. Actually I don't care for any of the personalities on that channel.

Hooper89 your comments are Consistent with most reviewers as well. Good the mid size trucks are all a little different. Everyone should be able to find one that fits their needs best. I wish the Taco had better payload (gladiator gets up to 1700 lbs) but for me I like the 6’ bed and quiet highway ride with enough off road capability to get to my hunting and fishing spots without knocking my fillings loose, and wandering between two 18 wheelers while pulling my boat on the highway, even if that means I have to hunt for gears a bit. I am glad I live in a relatively flat state, so Gear hunting should be much of an issue here in Texas.

It's the same BS with all their comparisons. "We're gonna find out which truck is best at X!" Skip to the end.
    Personality 1: I liked Brand X!
    Personality 2: I liked Brand Y!
    Everybody wins!

Both groups of fanboys have something to go with and they don't ruffle any feathers of the manufacturers. If that's the route they want to go, it's fine by me. But don't bullshit your viewers that you're actually going to declare a winner. Clickbait title garbage.

I drove the Ranger off-road and on and I really wanted to dislike it being a Toyota guy. The particular truck I was in had a ton of options, so it wasn't cheap. The fit and finish was nice. Rode great with our coilovers on it. The 10 speed trans is amazing. It had power instantly 24/7. It really blew me away.

Would I buy one? I don't know. It would really need to get into the mid 20's mileage wise to even make sense, IMO.

Ford announced a recall today on the rear taillights. Something about misaligned wiring connections could cause the taillights not to function.
