What did you end up getting? Still going to be able to join us out on the trails?

 

I haven't gotten anything yet. I want to sell the Taco before dropping coin on something else, but all signs point to a Gen1 Raptor right now, so likely more of a desert exploring kind of vehicle than a trail-running type vehicle. Also going to need to sell the diesel and my motorcycle haha.

 

I remember you saying a Raptor was top on the list but didn’t realize you were looking at 1st gens. Can make a sick build out of a 1st gen Raptor.

coastal slopes above 7000 ft. Locations between 3000 to 4000 ft
MSL will have around 1 to 3 inches. Strong south to southwest
winds are also possible on Wednesday afternoon and evening.

* From Wednesday morning through Thursday evening.

* One to two inches of rain is forecast with localized amounts to
three inches possible near the coastal foothills. Rainfall
rates in excess of a half an inch per hour are possible in the
heaviest showers and isolated thunderstorms, which could result
in flash flooding.

* Locally heavy rainfall could produce flash flooding, with the
greatest threat in steep terrain, especially in and below
recently burned areas. Flooding of poorly drained and urban
areas will also occur, presenting a hazard for motorists.

Man that sounds like fun to me lol. Taking my Dad, brother and nephew camping next Saturday but my pops doesn't want to be in the snow as much as I wish we could. Probably going to do Gorman instead

 

Definitely going to be snow on the ground in the High Desert from the top of the Cajon pass almost to Victorville

 

Yeah we might even see some up in Gorman. Word is they plan on closing the grapevine Friday due to the weather/snow. But Saturday isn't supposed to be stormy and I highly doubt they'll keep the grapevine closed over a holiday weekend for more than a day

 

I kinda like when thE streets by me flood a little bit. Get to play splashing the truck through flooded blocks and driving home there is no traffic so I can blast through in the taco heh heh

Take chains even with 4wd... you likely won't need them but the CHP will check to see if you have them in the truck if the snow is heavy.

Yes and no. They will ask if the weather is bad enough. I keep "mine" locked in a case so they don't actually ask to see them.

I agree and I don't even like using chains but you haven't seen the morons that go to the mountains when snow comes to SoCal

 

Gonna have to hit PCH thru Sunset Beach to get the flooded road to wash the mud off my undercarriage from the weekend.

 

Like @desertjunkie760 said, it depends on how bad the weather is. I've been asked a few times to show them to the CHP officer. They just want to see that you have them, you don't have to take them out of the bag or anything. I've never once had to actually use them, which is probably good because the chains I keep in my truck are for my old 32s and not my 33s lol.
