so i ordered one of the little fuses - interestingly enough, now that it is cold, my battery is around 14.6v at startup, I'm not sure what it settles at yet because I haven't driven long enough and/or havent noticed. I'm sure the cold weather is playing a factor. Now I'm wondering if the fuse would only help during warmer weather.

That being said, I do know that lower temps will generally require higher voltage for charging, a few sources have confirmed this, like this one:

Just googled "AGM battery voltage temperature" and you will see graphs and tables such as this one.

Ha, you let the internet talk you into a problem you didn't even know existed. Imagine that on a forum ;)

A few of the guys I wheel with have 10+ year old AGMs that sit for months at a time during the winter and are charged only on whatever the stock alternator is on a 22RE/1FZ/2F/5VZ. They all still start great after sitting for extended periods and hard winch pulls. I wouldn't fret too much about it.

Well this has to be the smallest part I've ordered that costs this much, but it seems to work as advertised.. it has been fairly cold here recently so the charge voltage was at 14.9-15.0v, after shutting the truck off it's sitting at about 12.8-13.0v which is good resting voltage for an AGM battery. Maybe I'll get 10 years out of this battery so this little part will pay for itself

Was a little warmer today and I was also able to let the truck warm up to temp for longer, voltage range between 14.4 and 14.7 which is
