Also, I hauled some flooring for a friend today and it seemed to get worse after that...

Well, the dealer can keep fixing it for free, but that's gonna get old...

This will be the last time, I assure you; How do I make the dealer pay for another mechanic to fix their screwup?

Be happy its under warranty. Take it back. Keep good records.

Edit: If it happens again you will need to get Toyota Corp involved.

So you think I should keep bringing it back to the dealership until they get it right?

Try Toyota Corporate first. Tell them your full story. They'll do an investigation and see what course of action you can take with them that won't cost you anything out of pocket. Maybe you'll get something extra in return for your trouble as well. They're easy to deal with. Until then, have that dealership keep making the repairs since now it's covered by their mistake.

For warranty work. I don’t know of any other way. What are the lemon laws in your state?

I think the next step is to escalate to corporate.

What will Toyota be willing to do for a 10-year old, 107K mile truck that's long out of warranty?

Pretty sure he’s talking about the work having a warranty. Not the truck

It's not a lemon, it's a 10-year old truck that's never had this problem before...

Toyota cares if one of their licensed practitioners is botching their trucks and potentially their brand.

Sorry my bad. I think the dealer is the only way you will get it done under warranty. Maybe you can get a refund for the original work? :notsure:

It's sucks I know, but keep going to them. As long as its a Toyota dealership, Toyota will get things squared away. Once you go to someone else to repair the repair, you lose. This is just a hiccup in life, it will get take care of properly but you have to do some leg work and practice some patience. Also, be nice to the Toyota people on the phone, they're very nice people.
