    I replaced the CV axle with one I bought at Carquest, the same day. Disconnected the rear driveshaft, put it in 4HI and drove home FWD like a Honda Civic lol.

    Not really. On our trucks they still spin, whether you're in 4WD or not. If the inner CV joint breaks, you can remove the outer section and drive like that till you're in a good spot to swap it. If you're not fixing it there, don't go over 3-5 mph while being towed, or don't drive it.

    Sure, with an inner CV failure at least. Inner shaft broke in a Hyundai Elantra for about 200 miles up the California coast. I used a steel ziptie to hold it out of the way of the suspension, pulled the ouer, and it still banged all over the place. I burned up my clutch in stop and go traffic, ironically, and eventually had to stop to get parts. Never driven in a one wheel drive sedan before then... Hope I never do it again (for the sake of my hearing and psychological well being). My friend's apartment management was not too keen on my car being in pieces in the parking lot.

    They still spin on all cars. :D
