It’s not bent... it’s flipped when they put lift on. It just needs to be rotated (the piece thats rubbed. I don’t care about the wheel as much

Did they flip it on purpose?

That is your outer tie rod. Can you take a picture of the driver side? Looks like a ton of threads showing on it (that isn't necessarily a bad thing - just something I noticed immediately at first glance). After your lift was installed, did you have an alignment done?

EDIT: just saw you aren't sure on the alignment. Does it drift? Does it pull when braking? Hows your tire wear? Might want to take it in for an alignment.

That doesn't seem TOO out of place, that's about how much is showing on mine. Granted, this is before I got it aligned, but I matched the # threads that were showing on the stock TRE when I set it up.

Yes an alignment. It’s dark and cold I won’t take pic till morning but it’s the same thing threads are normal. On the right side of the pic the vertical line of scraped metal is what I’m talking about. That lil arm is the same thing, but instead of curving back towards the bed, it should be flipped, and therefore curving towards the hood before connecting to wheel. This is why driver side no rub, passenger lotta rub

They only fit one way. You can't 'flip' it. The bend should be facing forward. See below -
Only thing I can think of is they didn't have both side specific parts and used 2 of the same for both sides :notsure:

No. Get it fixed RIGHT. No spacers... get the right part. They 'fixed' it so have them fix it RIGHT. No workarounds when it comes to safety components and suspension/steering is most definitely safety.

    OME and worth every penny.
I have a feeling it's been like this since you had the rack done but if the lift guys didn't catch it, I think you need to find new mechanics all the way around.

Don't feel bad, I wouldn't use the popular lift shop near my town to inflate a tire.

Even if you end up having to do it yourself, its not that bad. Easy job and yes you'll need an alignment afterward. I personally stick with OEM parts but I know others use aftermarket to save a few bones. Your call. I use Camelback Toyota for my part orders - if you choose to order from them, let them know your on the TacomaWorld forum and they usually cut you a break on shipping.

First mechanic mlstd my brothers exhaust so i don’t go there. Same guy replaced rack cost me like 1200. New mechanic hasn’t wronged me. Will go to them if lift shop is not compliant. Steven Toyota charge arm and leg so I only go there to look at brand new Tacoma’s and tease employees when they think I have enough bank to buy.

Holy shit that's hella unsafe looking. How many miles have you driven with that incorrect arm or rod end or whatever it is?

Well shoot, if it's been a while maybe the wheel and end are ground down enough to not make contact, but ouch it hurts just thinking about driving around like that. Just be safe man, not trying to say anything about anyone, just be safe dude:D inspect it well take good pictures of it with light and show em here just to make sure it'll be safe

Agreed. Don't drive it, get it fixed ASAP.

I wonder if any damage has been done to the rack. Guess he'll find out when he finally goes in for an alignment after the new part(s) are installed.

That's weird that a shop would let him drive off with it. You'd think when shop backed it out of bay they'd have heard that scraping, I guess if it's scraping the while time. Prolly only during certain turns, you think?

I think the shop didn't have a left & right and instead just sent him on his way and probably charged him big money.

If it was recent, I'd totally go back and insist it be done right. Total safety issue. Then again, how can you trust that level of work. Screw it, demand a refund and either do it yourself or find another shop. Sorry OP... Can't stand half azz work.
