Keep in mind, I made sure to add felt and wrap around corners anywhere plastic met plastic. You just have to pay attention to the tabs that need to seat into the dash/pillar. Those tabs can't take too much felt or the pieces won't snap back in due to lack of clearance, so don't wrap around the tabs.

    Hope this helps you out.
    1. This was my first attempt using adhesive foam that was suggested by someone in this or another similar thread. It was meh, but I left it in.

    2. I then moved on to adhesive felt, and that did the trick

Glad to see the thread still going with all the fixes and ideas you've all tried!

Mine is still quiet after a couple of years and now sitting 37,500 miles.

The weather turned cooler here today. The somewhat bearable rattle that appeared a few months ago turned in to a John Bonham drum solo!! Have just over 20K on this 2017. It's become a constant source of disappointment & frustration.

My tweeter cover rattle is soooo annoying. Have the Subaru replacement tweeters so hopefully will get everything snugged up once I install those.

After 9 months of peace and quiet after adding the Tesa tape and replacing my tweeters with the Subaru ones, the freaking rattle is back with a vengeance (just got cold here in Kansas).

    Uggh!

I found this solution from a similar 2017 thread. Obvy have to clean it up, but worked perfectly...no more rattle! it was killing me!

The toothpick trick works!!! It ain't purdy but it allows you to keep your sanity until you can fix a permanent solution. Use a thick pick to apply as much pressure between the grill and A-pillar cover as it takes to stop the rattle.

I have the same noise as in Haikin video. I put some of the felt side of velcro in between the speaker and the "A" pillar and so far ( 1 Day ) no noise.

Do you have to remove the a-pillar to pull the speaker cover off?

Sorry I dont know about removing the speaker grill. I did not remove anything. I just cut the felt side to match the conture of the dash and pushed it in. I used a thin piece of cardboard to help push it into the space. Probably took total 10 minutes.

I have a 2017 TRD Off-road that had the annoying rattling noise coming from passenger side. The noise was only noticeable around 35+ mph and constant. The noise was everything that was described in most of the threads here.

So I went through most of the threads on here to get an idea of what it was. I ended up taking off my cover from the A-pillar, speaker cover over tweeter, half the dash and all components of glove box, kick panel, door trim, door panel and passenger seat.

I wanted to try and eliminate all things at once when I drove it up to speed to hear the rattling. After several trips around the block I couldn’t find the source and parked the truck in the driveway to do some research. While I standing next to the truck dumbfounded I noticed my mud flap on the passenger side wasn’t flush to the trim so I tighten it up and put my dash and seat back in but left the door panel, trim and kick panel off. Had a passenger ride with me one last time to see if he could here the noise and guess what it was gone.

Bottom line we determined it was the loose mud flap making the noise at 35+ mph. Trucks back together and no more annoying ticking sound.

F Me! I have been pulling the dash apart putting toothpicks and Tesa tape all around the A pillar and speaker cover and could not get rid of this maddening rattle. I spent two weeks and rode around for days with everything pulled apart and still could not fix this. Then I found this fastener in the passenger front wheel well had come loose. I was going insane but that solved my issue.
