Can I tell if the axle shaft is bent just by looking under the truck, or does shit have to come apart?

Ideally the person working on it would take it out to verify, I work in a machine shop.... I check things for true all day haha. But you should be able to half ass check it by the method I told you earlier.

The truck will be sitting unused in my driveway for about a week while I go away for Thanksgiving; Going to private mechanic to diagnose a heater noise on Monday morning, and also got an appointment at the dealer that afternoon. I'm sure my mechanic will floor the gas pedal while it's on the lift.

    @Speedytech7

I just so happened to have a doctor's appointment today and told my doctor about the truck issues; He thinks my truck is telling me that it's time for a new truck! He also admits that he's not much of a car guy...

There was a crazy thing that happened a few towns over. 2 guys were in a Chevy truck driving along and smelled smoke so they started looking around the cab, guy opens the glovebox and fire shoots out so they pull off the road and run down to a house and knock on the door to ask for the people to call the fire dept. Truck is fully engulfed in flames and proceeds to go come down thru the yard and up into the front door of the house they stopped at and burns the house down.

I don't know how true this is, but in the late 90s I heard about a guy who blew a fuse in his truck and replaced it with a shotgun shell. He started the engine and promptly shot himself in the leg...

Gives a whole new meaning to "Riding Shotgun"!

Some sources say it was a .22 bullet...

Was the story you told me true, about the burning truck starting a structure fire?

My suggestion Charlie, first and also as an Asperger parent, second as a fellow Tacoma owner is chill for a bit.

You don’t know that your stealership is intentional screwing you. And to be fair, mechanics at dealerships make mistakes and thus far you’ve said they are still willing to work with your issue.

You can’t worry / do anything about the axle breather valve until you can check it yourself.

You can’t worry / do anything about a possible axle being not straight and true.

Work through this one step at a time.

You have a dealership still trying to solve a seal problem on your truck that they recently worked on. Keep the “ball” in their court - that also likely costs you nothing more than headache and time.

After your truck is delivered back to you, keep your documentation and then first investigate the breather valve for correct operation.

Any suggestions beyond that are to be welcomed and added to your list of possible reasons for continued seal problems to go back to your dealer to remedy.

    Logical Linear Thinking.

    stay chill.

Thank you. How old is your kid with AS?

Also, I don't my dealer is intentionally trying to screw me; I'm just frustrated with having to bring my truck back a third time. My dad bought me the truck brand new when I got my learner's permit, and I've probably become more attached to this truck than most people get to any vehicle.

It could be any number of things, but I must ask the most fatal. Have you done anything where you might have bent the axle housing? Like a canyon sized pothole? I had a similar scare with this but mine just went bad 37 years and 160,000 miles later.

You think they'll ever drive? You or your wife have AS? One of the things I worry about is that my future kids are genetically predisposed to having AS, and I don't know how well I'll do at raising a younger version of me.
