I had a Tundra and had to go downtown for a bunch of work. Couldn't fit in a parking spot without having to think about it and find a good one where the others didn't park messed up etc... just a hassle with a larger truck when downtown.

 

Oh okay, yeah I get that. I'm not a fan of bigger vehicles for that reason either. But that doesn't mean I couldn't make 500hp out of a 2.7 taco haha.

Yeah in fact looking at the underdrive pulleys that bork it down to about 4 or 5 psi.

Which is why when I talk about it I always disclaimer it's not to address any specific use-case. It's seriously because it's so well layed out to do it and the tinkering involved is right up my alley, so it's a "because I can" reason, not because of some good reason or solid use case. To your point even more, I've been sitting on that CX kit for over 6 years as it's more a 'for fucks' mod vs a useful mod.

 

@1997tacomav6 are you still rocking the OEM headers or aftermarket? If not I think you should...some better flowing aftermarket headers will help your performance with the setup you've got even more

 

OEM still, I’m looking at probably getting Doug thorley headers. Just trying to figure out how hard the install will be and if it will be a direct bolt in.

 

Supercharger support bracket 1st test. I need someone to print this out on a piece of legal size paper, actual size. Then glue it to cardboard and cut it out. Then test fit it for size and alignment.

 

Working up a cad file.

IF @OVTune can jailbreak our ECU, any chance we would be able to change some tuning on the transmission?

 

yes but unlikely that this will happen. He’s too busy producing turbo/supercharger kits and revising tunes. Not enough market for first gens. The original 3.4l OTtune was also only for 03-04 with the electric throttle body and transmission. It’s different ECU tech. But he did mention something in the last update.

just swap in a manual. Problem solved.
