i just extended my bumps a touch for now to stop it. Mine buckled so bad it pulled my fender away from the hood. I have a decent gap on the passenger side now compared to driver.

F*** yeah. Pick up some used glassworks fenders over the weekend from another member. It's quite exciting, just another peice to the puzzle. So glad they're already painted, I think I'll probably run the black for while, should look too out of place with a MGM truck.

They're not so bad when u have manual hubs :D:anonymous:

Cage all the things. And replace that sheet metal with tube.

Somewhat more seriously, check your rad support under the headlights for cracks too.

cut it out and tube the front core support, or you can cut and clear the sheet metal support, and weld back some plates to connect again like @lt_yota did. Here’s a pic, but there’s more on his instagram.

I was running wheelers with spacer. I’ve since ordered hydros, I did this on very mild jumps in my yard and on 33s. I can only image the damage some of you guys have had.

Yeah, I was rubbing the shit out of 33s with my mid travel kit. Popped fender flares and bent up the inner fender.

I can only assume that people aren't actually using their up-travel. Which when all you do is park on a rock for the grams is true.

When I had 34s the only time I rubbed the inner fenders was when I jumped the truck....did some more tubbing and it still rubbed on jumps...once I switched to 35s it just...rubbed everything lol. But that's because of a bad alignment and stripped cam bolts haha. Recently switched back to 33s to get some power back, nothing rubs now. Pretty happy with it.

    A thing or two...
    Define "get by with".

You're going to hang tire past the fender, and you're going to have to trim a good bit to not destroy them at full stuff.

You’re only on 33’s correct? If so it will be close and you might need to trim. My 35’s cleared my 3” trailer products fenders with a +3.5 kit just fine.

Then you might be fine. Could always adjust your bump stops to keep the tires from rubbing if they do

Best way to check for clearance issues is to get the truck airborne

Any advice for a 1st gen with bedsides looking to get sliders. I have glassworks 4” bedsides but they aren’t currently installed so I can’t measure right now, but these sales going on I’d like to grab a set. If anyone has any experience with choosing the right length sliders let a guy know? Thanks!

Length won’t change due to bedsides so whatever your cab/ bed configuration is will set the slider length. Now if you want them to be extra wide to protect the rear glass then you’re looking at something custom likely

I have an extra cab but was concerned about the bulge so I was debating getting the regular cab length sliders...so you think just go with the extra cab advertised size?

If you’re laying the sliders flat/ parallel to the ground then it shouldn’t be an issue. If you wanted them tipped up at an angle would be the only spot you may have an issue with the fender. But even then you should be able to get some angle on them.
