I didnt think Id like oak when I got my truck. But it just feels more "cozy" then grey. And the black wheel/column trim I swapped in go well with it.

Same way, I always preferred grey until I had the oak in the silver 100 series Cruiser and now kinda prefer oak. I think it's prolly cause it 'feels' brighter to me

If the upholstery material on the door panels and seats all start to go and you like Waterproof Canvas Duck Cloth seat covers, you can order the Duck Cloth material by the yard and replace the door panel fabric.

These old trucks are coming up on that age where more and more folks are gonna be needing to address things like this.
The first year of Tacoma, 1995, is going to be considered a 'classic car' in state of Utah, isn't it 25 years old? Wow these things are still all over the road! Crazy how many are still on the road. See multiple of 1st gens daily it seems

So, with your time now in the V6 built up a little bit, how do you feel about the drivability between the 2.7 and the 3.4? What would you describe as the main differences in the driving of them?

I don't think about it much, I have a driving style that I maintain across a lot of vehicles. With the 2.7 I just had to wind it out more getting on the highway, thats really about the only time I notice. Around town I drive them about the same, and once they're on the highway I just have to drop out of 5th for hills less often. There's snow and ice on the road this morning so I noticed I wanted to spin the rear more in 2nd and 3rd but that could just be from awful AT tires and smaller diamteter than I had on the 2.7 trucks.

That particular drift Corolla iM sold for $46K. Not a bad price for the amount of time and work that went into it.

It's seems WADOT has brought back Magnesium Chloride, and in some cases Salt. Last winter was so bad for them that they're pre treating highways now because they couldn't thaw the ice in some spots for 4 months last year. At least surface streets only get sand still. Might have to get a winter beater if they're gonna go heavy with it. We will see what everything looks like after this winter.

I'm same way on driving lmao, didn't matter if it was the 3 cyl Geo or the V8 100 series. It's why I'm terrible at giving critical reviews.
For me, the engine itself isn't as huge a factor as the maintenance of it. And I'm a fan of timing chains.

I noticed the power difference right away but it really only helps me on hills. My 2.7 had to drop into 4th to climb at 70 mph while the V6 doesn't. I don't go over 3k rpms cause I baby the engines for long life and don't care to much for max performance. It's a daily.

My 2.7 is still kicking for the new owner at over 270k and I banged off rev limiter and bang shifted like it owed me money everytime I drove it, sometimes with supercharger boost too. These engines don't care, it's not the 1970s fragile V8s that couldn't rev.
