Not sure if it’s going on sale for Black Friday, but I was considering this harbor freight one.

Just an FYI, the harbor freight one is known for kinking tubing when it bends. I wouldn’t use it for anything structural.

@Croth51 that used to be on here got decent bends out of 1.5” tube but yeah for 1.75 I’d make sure to get a real bender.

He’s gonna buy another truck when he gets a job after college - but with all the great weather and roads yeah it’s hard not to want a whip down in SoCal - I’d like to save up for an 86 once I sell my 2nd gen!

I built my first truck with this bender, but it was very trying lol. The tubing starts to kink after a couple degrees, I remember some guys would fill the tubing with sand To keep the tube from kinking though hahaha. There was a guy who built a fully caged truck with one but I have no idea how. I remember I was looking at the affordable bender I think it was called, around $300. I have access to an electric hydraulic bender now though at work it’s awesome wish I had it a long time ago.

I don’t know much about them, other than diy’ers on here with them say they’re decent.

The big difference is that the Woodward Fab can't handle 1/4" wall tube. The JD2 can.

I see - what are you building with 1/4” wall tube? Or is it just a “maybe” to consider?

Sliders and armor. My new sliders will be all 1/4” wall since the 0.120” wall bent like a banana.

I just picked up some 3/16 wall 2x3 to make a rear x member / bumper platform - that 1/4” wall stuff will be super beefy.

Yeah the majority of my armor is 1/8 or 3/16 where it needs extra beef and then 1/4 where stuff mounts to the frame. Sliders just take a ton of abuse when really crawling these trucks since they’re so long.
