This is the best place to get a response. Bed Rail sides are not supported all that well, reason several companies have come up with "Bed Stiffeners".

 

Got about 15” at my place. Main roads are ok, side streets ok as well. It could be like this until May and I’d be fine with that. Enjoy and be safe everybody!

Looking to see if you know anyone local that would have the slotted T nuts that fit into a 2009 deck rail. I assume they are all the same year to year but I'm pretty new to Tacoma's.

Also wondering if anyone has replaced the factory rails with something like 7/8" uni strut ( https://www.unistrut.us/product-details/p3300 ) . I'm thinking the uni strut would be stronger. I could also then use spring nuts that are easily available.

Thirdly, has anyone had to retap the bed rail holes and if anyone knows how supported the bed rail sides are? No doubt i am over thinking this for no reason. But any helpful insight is appreciated.

I drove into work leaving at 4am
It was so pleasant not dealing with anyone, and a lot of fun smashing the neighborhood..

 

Okay, the time has come for me to do an auxiliary fuse box/circuit break setup. Here's what I planned on getting. Anyone able to check my logic?

-Custom panel to hold fuse box, circuit breaker, and possibly relay bar
-Blue Seas Systems 12 slot Fuse box w/ neg terminal
-Bussman 100a circuit breaker
-Hella 4-way mini relay box?

Planned to run 4ga or 8ga wire from battery to the circuit breaker, then circuit breaker to pos/neg terminal on fuse box. Then 12ga to any relay's from the fuse box?

Now for relays, I currently only have 1 accessories set up with relay and inline fuse on my truck. Being my 40" roof rack light bar.

To my understanding, you only need to relay thing that are switched (On/off button) or pull a draw of more than 10amps. Following the basic formula, amps x volts = watts, 10a x 12v(DC) = 120w. So I should put a relay on anything over 120w.

When I get the fuse box setup, I will no longer have to have in-line fuses to the switch/accessories, but will I still need to put one between the relay and fuse box?

Each fuse slot is rated up to 40a fuse, so 480w. The relay stuff is what is confusing me, anyone able to clear that up?
