Oh people who pass on the shoulder in bumper to bumper traffic just make my blood boil.

Bunch of entitled fuck wads who think their time is more important than everyone else. If I see them soon enough Ill block them.

I'd potentially be down for a quick ride around Holcomb Valley Trail Saturday morning.

I'm picking up chains tomorrow in the off chance I can wheel this weekend. You might want to keep an eye on traffic, I have a feeling big bear is going to be super crowded.

yeah it's always bad going up the highway in the winter time, especially when it's snowing and they have the CHP checkpoint setup to stop all cars looking for 4wd and/or chains on each one.

Which is why it's better and more fun to take the fire roads up ;) Coxey Rd from Hesperia all the way up into Big Bear. But given the incoming weather they may have it closed off, would have to check the forest service website.

Hmm I've never been up that way before.

Have any experience with Lytle creek wheeling in the winter? Might be a nice quick trip for me since its super close

Coxey Rd is an easy 2wd friendly trail when it's dry, takes about an hour to get up to Big Bear lake from the desert down below where it starts. If it's snowing or raining though it is definitely a 4x4 trail only, can easily get washed out in places

    Check My Sig.
Coming up through Rattlesnack Canyon would also be a good way to get up the mountain. Kicks out on the 18 instead of the 330.

There is one part of rattlesnake that I sat on my sliders on for a second when I went up there ~4 months ago... You could probably get around it with some better spotting but I was definitely happy to have them.

I'll be keeping an eye on the trail and road conditions during the storm, and see if it would be possible to run Coxey Road to Holcomb Valley Trail to Green Valley Road, and then come down that way.

I wouldn't want to go alone, so I'll keep posting and see if anyone would want to go!

The weather up here in the High Desert is very ugly today !!! . Currently it's 40° and with the 30mph winds the windchill is actually 27°

Should be seeing snow by later this afternoon here at 3500ft elevation which includes the Mariana foothills . Coxey road might be covered in 3" to 5" of snow

Also snow showers on the Cajon pass right now
