I park my Tacoma in a area were theft of the catalytic converters is very common. A thought came to my head that there might be a skid plate to cover that area up. Are there any that do ?

Not that I know of and thieves don't care. If they really want it they'll get it

Yup, just like my tailgate! So, I got the SaBellCo lock now. My mindset now is to prevent everything from being stolen.

in hawaii it is a big issue, they get it out in 1 minute with a battery sawsall. i think a skid plate would deter a thief, not in and out in 60 seconds. bolt it up so it is hard to get at the bolts.

True, but the more of a pain-in-the-ass it is for them, the more likely they’ll move on to easier pickins’........
Back in the day when I lived in sketchy areas, I modified bolt heads, filled hex head screws with clear silicone and zip tied stuff just to make it harder for thieves with tools to steal my shit.
A skid plate sounds like a reasonable first step to me.......

It would definitely help deter a thief, but not impenetrable. The cats are off to the side a bit so the skid will aid in making it more difficult to get hands and a blade up there.

    For example -
