@EatSleepTacos: Does cycling the ABS pump have something to do with a line flush and if so is there a write up on how to do it? I have never flushed a ABS system. Granted I am old and most of my vehicles have been pre-ABS, but I am not too old to learn something new.

 

No no.

You need an expensive scanner. I did it as a “may as well try” before I got it pressure bled. We also vacuum bled and it’s still a slightly squishy pedal. I’m going to call around and find someone with a BG bleeder and let them have at it.

 

If def makes a difference to cycle the system. You can get pretty damn close but that cleans it all up. We did that ages ago at my brothers shop but need to get it done again after the wilwood caliper swap.

Edit again - the slotted cryo come out to $120 through AutoAnything. I was able to find them for $117 back in Oct. through several places, but the price had been creeping up since then... I guess so places could just knock it back down with Black Friday “Sales”.

another option is the Willwood setup from RR Racing https://www.rr-racing.com/RR-Racing-Front-Big-Brake-Kit-for-Lexus-GX-4Runner-p/gx4fbk0002.htm This is calipers and bracket only but works with any 338mm T4R rotor so you have a ton of options. Could have a BBK kit for 1200 OTD. I am running this setup now and its been great. Its not on there now but you could ping them there is also an external dust shield option which is great for offroad/dirt.

StopTech BBK installed. ST60 6-piston calipers with 340mm slotted rotors running modified 4runner dust shields.

Unfortunately I ordered the wrong stainless lines which are excessively long. So I’ll swap them with the shorter ones later this week. Shout out to @Kidwidataco for the hand in the install. More thorough details to come.

Old Harbor Freight work light testing at 18'. By far the worst light I have ever tested. CCT ratings and stepped spectrum makes me cringe. Whats worse, while I'm working with this crap, my 6yr old is running around with a KC Hilites lantern/work light. But to be fair, my garage is lit with 32,000 lumens of ultra high quality high CRI (94 CRI) 3000k light. Nicer lights than most run in their home. So I almost never need the work lights, since the garage is lit like an operating room. (older model than linked)
