I've been wanting a new muffler for quite a time now, and im on a tight budget of about 150~

Ive looked into flowmaster super 40, as well the Dynomax Super Turbo (i think thats the name)

I talked to a local shop, he says for a weld-on he'll do it for 50$...so that now leaves me with about 100$ and i know flowmasters are arround 80$

So, is that cost for welding it on good? And any other suggestions for mufflers?

I will steer you away from Flowmaster all day long... I say go with either Aero Turbine or Wicked Flows. Check out my sig for my AT setup for a taste anyway. WF videos are floating around here for sure though too.

If I were you. I clamp it to see if you like the sound and leave it for at least a month as mufflers change in sound as they break in. If you don't like it..undo the clamps, sell and buy another.

FWIW, True experience from a guy who does this on musclecars all the time.

Tell us what kind of sound you're looking for.

Well definitely not a ricey sound, but a deep and loud sound. I know the flows solve the loud bit but as for deep I don't know lol

My suggestion... if things are that tight (that you had to wait to make the decision to spend $150), you might want to save your money. If your current muffler is working fine, use that decent paycheck for something more essential. Or better yet, put it in the bank and don't touch it.

The Dynomax turbo would give you a deeper sound over a chambered Flowmaster.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
    X2

I was going to go with a Flowmaster but I talked to my buddy at the muffler shop and he told me to not do it. 1 because they don't sound that great on a v6 and the company has not warranted defective products I guess they tend to rust out rather fast. He told me to go with a Magnaflow and it would be much happier in the long run. So far so good i love the sound of the truck now nice and deep but not to loud I'm sure it's going to sound even better as it breaks in.

100%stock, except for the exhaust leak and custom windshield crack mod
I ran a flowmaster 10 Series till i got my headers, and it was a good sounding muffler! I ran them on my z71 and on the tacoma, best sounding on both trucks i think. I have had great results with the quality of the flowmasters also, over 5 years on my 10 series.

On a second note, if you have headers, it sounds not so good haha, got rather raspy so i changed to a 40 series.
