You can totally make two wheel drive work in the snow. Especially on highways because for the most part they're better than surface. That said I've been caught on highways in snow storms where the snow was so bad with ice underneath that I couldn't get traction at all and had to just pull over for the night. That actually happened at the edge of Montana by Idaho. I would have the best tires you could possibly have for the foul weather, extra weight in the bed, and hopefully you know how to drive in the snow and ice. Would be wise to bring some chains with you too

And maybe some extra gas, warm clothes and food, just Incase shit hits the fan.

True. I always have blankets and coats and socks and the car just because I'm used to cold weather and wheeling in cold weather. But when I was in Arizona I only kept that stuff in the taco not the cruiser which was the road trip vehicle

I’ve always got my winter stuff in the winter anyway, I need to do better with food though

That's the plan, I appreciate all your help man. Shit would be super nice with a shell but ya get what you get lol. TBH Tacoma seats recline back SUPER FAR compared to my last ram with a single cab. Shouldn't sleep too bad if needed. Very stupid question but I live in Az, can we just run chains nonstop in roads if there's snow ice? what are the general guidelines on it, like where am I allowed to avoid a cop stealing my moneys with a bs ticket for ignorance?

 

Yea, the lighter duty chains people run on the highway when there’s snow and shit.
